Please god, bring Sulik back >.<

First time out of the vault
I really hope they bring back Sulik in FO3. He was really cool. Him and Grampy Bone (the bone in his nose) ruled :D.

Who else wants to see Sulik come back?

Uhh...Sulik is a fun lad...However, what if the player managed to get Sulik killed at some point in Fallout 2, and then he emerges in FO3, appropriately aged, and due to the resulting confusion the player has a psychotic episode! :D

I tended to keep him around until someone better came along. I got tired of him quickly, since he was unable to use most good firearms and ended up looking like Ian incarnate with an SMG; furthermore I couldn't tell him to use guns exclusively. He usually lost out to a better NPC.

Does the usefulness of NPCs really matter? I mainly kept them around because they were amusing. I think I probably spent more time trying to keep them alive than they did actually helping me. I'm think dogmeat fighting supermutants here.

Well, in Fallout 1, Yeah, you were hearding your NPCs around and trying to keep them alive, but in Fallout 2, they became very useful. Well, the good ones did. Skynet, Cassidy, and even Vic the fuddy electronics technician could wield the Gauss rifle and wear powered armor. In the end they were all getting two shots a round, more than enough to cripple or kill an Enclave trooper, and absolutely massacre everything else. Marcus had virutes inasmuch as he could carry about half a ton and wield the real heavy artillery like the rocket launcher, minigun, (turbo) plasma rifle, pulse rifle, etc. He wasn't too fragile if you shot him full of psycho before the biggest combats as well. Sulic couldn't use any of the heavy rifles or big guns, the best you could give him was the G11E, which has burst mode, resulting in him spraying the other party members, and other people you happen to want alive and non-hostile.

However, we're not debating the merits of the combattants, really, but it may be cool to see him as a generic NPC (not a party member) if he fit the setting. I wouldn't bitch if he came back as a party member though, nobody's making me take him in Fallout 2 or 3, hopefully ;)

I'd more like to see a return of NPC's like Ian/Katja/Tycho (a new and extremely improved version of course) since theyy were kind of cool, but entirely useless...

Tycho kicked ass for a little while. Plus he always wore a gas mask.

Gas mask= Post-apoc badass.

did Tycho wear a gas-mask?

by the way I forgot to mention, don't forget Dogmeat! no other NPC kicked more ass

The model didn't have it, but you should read Tycho's description when you first meet him.

Dogmeat is going to be in one of the random encounters.

OT: Dogmeat once took on 14 gang members and kicked their ass. I hope he becomes a party member somehow.

Anyway, I liked Sulik overall. I tried to get him always in front. I always thought he was pretty useful. Maybe it's teh way I set him or I just knew to stay the hell out of his way, but he was pretty useful for me.

How did you get him to fire the G11E? In both 1.02 and 1.05 Sulik has never allowed me to equip him with the G11E. I've always had to give him a .223 pistol or an H & K P90c.

he was a good mele char he seemed to empty to mutch ammo if you gave him an smg

id like him to be an npc rather than a party member tho
