Reviewer stupidity--also my opinions on the early game

Texas Renegade

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
I am loving it. I have had no crashes or glitches in 3 hours except for the fact that the PS store hasn't updated so the preorder bonuses aren't available till like 6pm Pacific time.

My reviewer issue--The one who said that the quests are bugged and don't launch--Hey idiot, there are 90 free roam quests in the game that never show up on the vault boy. They are designed for you to have to figure things out a small bit.

Also, I am loving the writing and background. Hardcore hasn't been anythign special yet, but I am still roaming around the first area so haven't exactly gotten out in the waste.

Difficulty is still kinda iffy. Went to hard for more challenge, but get a little frustrated with shooting things in the head repeatedly.

Enjoying myself so far though.

Oh and one more reviewer complaint--To the idiot who said that the radio is too repetitive and that isn't as good without 3dog.

It isn't anymore repetitive then FO3 was and Mr. Vegas is a lot more entertaining then 3dog. Plus, no songs are as annoying as the eating meat song from FO3.

How is the real time shooting?

I personally am a vats fan but Ironsites has saved my ass more in this game than I anticipated, to actually be able to hit something your shooting at makes me ecstatic.

I enjoy the iron sights to be honest. Was having a lot of fun randomly gunning people down in ironsights with that little 9mm that has night sights on it.

I actually prefer it. I do mostly iron-sights with VATS as "HOLYSHITCOMINGRIGHTFORME!" last resort. also, i agree with the OP.

most of my commentary i'll be putting in my thread in tO if anybody were to give a flying shit.

question is now. Does the "shooter" mechanics feel very close to Fallout 3 ? Or is it more comparable to letz say Deus Ex 1 ? Or a simple shooter ?

Just if you can would be nice if you could explain or compare it somehow.

~ And yes I would prefer a game where I "hit" something when I shoot it. Even with maxed out skills in Fallout 3 it always seemed like the weapons have been extremly weak. I mean if I spend damn 100 points in small arms, get the sniper perk then I want to be a damn fuc ... sniper ! And not spend 5 shoots on point blank range to hit them in the head with a scope.

Well it's still skill/roll based so you don't always hit something the way you would in a regular FPS, but iron sights works (and looks) well. I actually now find myself going for the iron sights shot until i have to start back-peddling or running away, then VATS comes as a last resort. The gun animations and designs are much better too.

Yes they are. The incinerator and 357 are awesome to shoot . Plus unlike 3 I am actually having weight management issues in this. Game

I believe they actually do show up - as notes in the "misc" section. Some even put a marker on your map if you click on them.

I think that if you have a minor problem with a game you're reviewing you should at least check with other reviewers so you know if it's something that happens regularly or if it's just a one time deal.
