Skipping Temple of Trials?

PastaMasta

Mildly Dipped
The Temple of Trials is by far the most annoying thing about this game. Is there any way to skip it? This is probably a stupid question. D:

Not without a bit of editing.

If you use the mapper to delete some of the trees and just walk to the exit grid, it will still count as passing the trials according to the game. But that's dirty cheating, and a last resort.

That's the fastest way to skip the trials, other than running through as fast as you can. Nothing you say to klint will convince him to let you go. It would have been cool to have an int=10 conversation thread that convinces him to let you pass.

Sfall might be able to do this, or you can take a hex editor to Fallout2.exe, go to address 0x107ac8 and change 'artemple.map' to 'arvillag'map'. You might have to go back into the end of the temple to get the Vault Suit, or go to 0xee8e8 and change 'hmwarr' and 'hfprim' to 'hmjmps' and 'hfjmps' respectively.

You could add yourself the items and experience you should get by doing the temple, so you don't lose anything by skipping. That's what would I do.
