So I have a Playstation 4 now

CT Phipps

Carbon Dated and Proud
Anyone want to recommend me some exclusives I might have missed?

I was strictly Xbox before.

So please tell me what good games I'd love to play that you liked.

Persona 5 royal - wait for it a year

Bloodborne

God of War

Spiderman

To name a few. You should look around.

Definitely not diablo 3, it sucks

Yakuza.
It's an absolutely fantastic series with some of the best stories in gaming.

Although I must warn you they're in Japanese with English subs.

You'll want to start with Yakuza Kiwami (a ground up remake of Yakuza 1 on ps2)

God of War.

People seem to recommend The Last of Us but I haven't gotten around to playing it myself so I can't personally recommend it.

If you haven't played RDR2 on Xbox I would recommend skipping entirely and watching the cutscenes on youtube as you would a podcast. Heavy animations, archaic and restrictive level design, and cumbersome horse mechanics join forces to make you want to just hate-fuck the disc drive with a metal rod.

  • Persona 5 The Royal (you can choose to get vanilla P5 or wait for The Royal if you want)
  • Bloodborne
  • Spider-Man (haven't played it myself but seen and read good things about it)
  • God of War (ditto)
  • The Yakuza games (take note that Sega may be porting, and has ported, some to PC)
  • The Last of Us (wasn't my cup of tea but it was alright)

Bloodborne (easily the BEST exclusive the PlayStation 4 has to offer!)
Hotline Miami ( you can buy the game at the PlayStation store, the game is really intense, with great gameplay, music, story, and replay value!)
Yakuza Kiwami ( enough said)
There's also other games that are available at the PlayStation store including; PS2 classics, PSN games, PS Now, etc.

Got and enjoyed Spider-Man.

Am currently playing Infamous: Second Son and debating trying out the rest of the series.

Last of Us is a must.

Not sure where to begin with the Yakuza or God of War series.

Edit:

Gotcha, Yakuza Kiwami.

Honestly the new GOW tries to put a sympathetic spin on kratos and that's much easier to accept if you start with the newest one and play the rest later.
I'd say just watch the cinematics for the first three God of Wars on Youtube if you want the story up until that point. It's largely unimportant to this game.

I mean, unless you want to play what were decent enough brawlers I suppose, but GoW PS4 isn't that style of game.

What about Hotline Miami?
Even though there's no physical copy of the game, you can still buy it from the PS store as long as you have enough PS currency.
Like I said from my previous post, this game is a must-play for those looking for great gameplay, music, story, and replayability. And YES, Hotline Miami is a BLOODY masterpiece, you won't regret buying it, I guaranteed it!

Wait thats illegal.

They can't just lie to my face like that.

Lol at describing god of war as a brawler

Also imagine being retarded enough to watch just cutscenes as an alternative to just playing the game.

Brawler seems close enough.

Mainly because he said he had a PS4, said he was strictly Xbox, and the first two God of War games aren't backwards compatible. So yeah, just watching the cutscenes seems reasonable enough rather than going through the trouble to figure out some way to play the games.

Not even near close.

The warriors on ps2 is a brawler as in you used you fists and random weapons you find on the street. Yakuza is a brawler.
God of war is hack and slash.

Mfw a PlayStation 2 is 40 dollars and you can get both god of war games for under 10. Watching just the cutscenes of a game is a dumb way to get the story. It's actually below just reading a plot synopsis.

As far as I'm aware hack and slash is just a sub-genre of brawlers.

Yet that's all one really needs to do to understand anything relevant from the first three games to the fourth. Besides that, I'd recommend spending that money towards Bloodborne over a PS2. Not to mention that unless he's got an old CRT lying around, the PS2 will look like shit on an HD system. Not even in an "Ew it's so dated" sense, I mean text might be completely illegible because it's so terribly blurred sense. Adapters exist, yes, but it's getting into too much trouble for what it's worth if the only reason he'd get the PS2 is for those two games.

Ha ha nope. They have totally different feels because the combat flows completely differently in a brawler compared to hack and slash. Two different genres. It's like calling golden axe and mortal Kombat the same thing because "it's a sub genre lol"

if the only reason he'd get the PS2 is for those two games.

There's literally hundreds of great games on ps2. Silent Hill 2 to this day still hasn't had a decent remaster.
