Stupid fallout experiences...

Vault Dweller
So.................

Post the dumbest thing you ever did/didn't do in your fallout 1/2 experience, I'll start off.

When I first got fallout, I had it in the jewel case, thus preventing me from having the manual for either game. I played through the game without trouble, until V15. In the room with the lockers (the overseer's level). At which point I was CORNERED by a mole rat. I had used every AP but one, so I couldn't do anything. And due to the lack of educational literature given to me, I knew nothing of the "turn" button. I hadn't saved so I had to start a new game. I only wish the game was still that new to me.

That was my dumbest fallout experience. Yours?

I took too much drugs(i forgot which one) and I got addicted, and I waited a lot of time(like traveling and stuff), and the addiction never got away. I don't remember if I started from scratch or I just kept on playing with my stats lowered...

I may be wrong, but I thought addictions would eventually pass as long as you didn't feed them (take more of the drug). Your stats would lower as you went into withdrawals, but, similar to real life, after you get past the withdrawals, you're not physically addicted anymore.

Edit: Oh right, Jet. I believe you can only cure that by doing the quest line involving talking to the doctor in Vault City's vault about it, getting Myron, talking him up about Jet, admitting that making a cure is possible, then going to the doctor in Vault City's vault again. This requires a sufficiently high science skill (or was it the doctor skill? both?) to talk to Myron and the doctor about it. I believe you get two doses of the cure, which you can give to the doctor in Redding to distribute to complete the quest, as well as take one yourself, if you need it.

Sounds like Jet.

I loaded in the Hub. Got on a caravan - encountered deathclaws, died.
I loaded in the Hub. Got on a caravan - encountered raiders, succeeded.
I looted Junktown. Returned to a caravan - encountered raiders, died.
I loaded in Junktown. Returned to a caravan - encountered raiders, died.

I loaded in Junktown. Returned to a caravan - encountered raiders, died.
I loaded in Junktown. Returned to a caravan - encountered mantis, succeeded.
I got to the Hub. took the deathclaw job, died.
I loaded in the deathclaw cave, died.
I loaded in the deathclaw cave, died.
I loaded in the deathclaw cave, died.
I loaded in the deathclaw cave, died.
I loaded in the deathclaw cave, died.

SFLing kills the game for me :P .

Dumbest thing I ever did was decide to take out the gang in Junktown Clint Eastwood style. e.g.: I busted in there guns blazing and killed everything that moves.

Unbeknownst to me, the one girl you talk to to actually complete the quest was a guard protected NPC. I ended up killing about 85% of the guards and Darkwater himself on the way out.

Eventually I took a caravan job back to junktown, tried to avoid as many guards as possible, and looted Darkwater's store.

So, maybe not that stupid, got alot of stimpacks 'n stuff.

In fallout 1, I loaded up my saved game and played for five hours without saving again then Fallout crashed on me. I lost all the progress. Can't remember where I was or what I was doing in the game.

In Vault 15 I was standing in between some rubble and all of a sudden Ian stood next to me. I couldn't get him to move, so I tried killing him. He killed me.

And I once played for about 3 hours straight without saving. When I got to the Military Base, I accidentally gave away my Vault's location...

I punched the first citizen in FO2 and got my ass kicked... but that bitch deserved it.

I just planted about 5 bundles of Dynamite on her and ran like hell...

Suffice to say, I never went back to Vault City.

Sir, Thank you. Very very much. Three cheers for anyone who harms First fucking Citizen Lynette!

Well, before I knew about speeding up combat I attempted to kill someone in San Fran.... half an hour later it was my turn again... I used up my last action point accidentally and waited again to load my saved game.

I went to the Glow... forgot about any kind of protection...
Realized this when I arrived and tired to get out of there...

I barfed, few hours later i died...

I kicked the shit out of the village elder in Klamath, thus that was the end of the game.

Not a stupid thing i did per se, but i remember in Tactics some tribal dude was running towards me screaming something to the effect of: "I will destroy you utterly, there is no possible way you can win!" I threw a rock at him, doing 1 point of damage, and he suddenly turned tail and ran away, saying "I will never see the village again". Lame.

That's a good one, that made me think of a really wierd glitch I had.

I was playing Tactics and I showed up at the first outdoor bunker (Delta?). With me were stoma, farsight, stitch, and some other NPC I can't remember. I go to the QM, do some trading, and when I come out of the barter screen...I have now BECOME stoma, and my generated charachter is now #5 on the list.

Hehe, bizarre. Tactics has some weird bugs.

First time through I searched a bunch of "Stuffs" and realized they were empty, so I got it in my head that "Stuffs" among other items (tool benches, peg boards, and a few others) NEVER had objects in them. Missed plenty of stuff that way and a lot of shop inventory.

I got put in jail in Junkyard on my first play through.

I didn't know about rest either so I bust out with the lock pick and got my ass handed to me.

____

First time on FO2 I became a slaver straight away. Lets just say I didn't fulfil the full potential that first game ...
