Submarine Mod

Scenery only (with blockers):

I'm strongly suggesting to put blockers exactly in the same way as on picture above to avoid/prevent any overlapping.

Whole thing:

From time to time left wall pieces are suffering from too large bitmap syndrome (~4 corner pixels are disappearing) :ugly:

If you want/like cranes then drop content of !cranes folder into scenery (overwrite existing files). Number of pieces and Frames Offset is/are exactly the same - nothing will get broken.

IMPORTANT NOTES

If something isn't mentioned here means that is running on default settings ;)

Walls:

- 01, 02, 03, 04, 17, 18, 19, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 Wall Light Type to East/West,
- 05, 06, 07, 36, 37 Flat to Yes and Trans None to Yes.

First are walls from torpedo room and they're going clockwise (starting from doorway). Walls from command room also are going clockwise (but they're starting from left (west) "connection" with torpedo room).

Scenery:

- 01-20, 22-25, 27-32, 34-35 Trans None to Yes,
- 21, 26 Trans None to Yes and No Block to Yes (the same blocking hex as wall),
- 33 (doors) Wall Light Type to East/West.

That "back", left (west) scenery pieces in command room are starting from 26, through 27-32 and at the end is 20 (top left "corner"). All those "back details" in left (west) scenery pieces are done for the lulz. I never intended/planned to make them. They're visible when player will get close enough to left (west) wall.

Items:

- 01, 02 Trans None to Yes.

Interior is distributed together with interior and boat from now. To check how boat is looking take a look at this post. To check how exterior is looking take a look at this post.

Also: please, DON'T edit those FRMs.

Thanks for listening!

Awesome - but one question: what were you imagining for outside the sub interior?? darkness? or water? or just the black tiles? if 'darkness', will the regular 'darkness' fit against the curved hull?

I think it's pretty obvious how the submarine can be incorporated - the Shi activated the starboard torpedo tubes following the Enclave's appearance in the tanker and it's subsequent decommissioning, to ensure that the bastards will never use it again.

The thing in front is the torpedo firing thingy, where the torpedos are loaded in and shoot out, right? If it is so, where do they fire out the torpedos? There is no kind of hatch or so.

Tube's outer doors (I thought so, but I wasn't sure ;)). Maybe not clearly visible, but they're there. You can even see the edges around your red marks.

Oh. Now I can see them too. :P Maybe you should make the border a little bit darker, so that it is better to see. :)

Some things can be fixed/tweaked later without any problems. I'm keeping all source files (even outer hull for 2nd and 3rd level or wharf ;)), including layered PSD with all pieces which are used on interior map.

Awesome work Continuum! I am excited to get this implemented into the game.

I also agree that the tube out doors are kinda are to see. Minor detail though. :p

Thank you again for all the time you have spent making this. It is truly a work of art!

yay, now i can see them, too^^ They are really hard to identify. :P

lol....I remember seeing them before, but now I CAN'T see them xD hahaha

lol ok now I see them. Or one of them!

Yeah they need to be a bit more visible I think...tho it's an extremely minor detail. I would suggest making them darker as light would have harder to penetrate the hole.
They should also be a bit bigger considering the huge missiles there.

I'm guessing this is more of a Nuclear Sub than an attack sub cause ellse the torpedos would be smaller and the hatches would be perfect.

There's no hole there and never will be. Doors are pulled to the back little a bit only.

The size is identical as the tube (Boolean operation has been made). Torpedoes are little a bit smaller than tube.

It's rather an attack sub, since there's no vertical missile silos on the board, which is very characteristic thing for most SSBN. Something like Los Angels (early, since later 12 vertical silos for Tomahawk missiles has been added), or Alfa or Akula (Project 971 Shuka-B) class submarines I'd say.

Besides, (and the most important) it's a freaking retro sub (designed for game's purposes), so searching any explanations is pointless ;)

Well I disagree with everything you said except that a nuclear sub would have holes on the top. Tho if I may quote Wiki, as you to said:

Even larger sizes of torpedo tube, including 660 mm (26 inches), 762 mm (30 inches), and 916 mm (about 36 inches), have been installed on some nuclear submarines. These tubes are designed to be capable of firing large diameter munitions such as cruise missiles, as well as the standard 21 inch heavy torpedo.

The torpedoes are to big, the tubes usually have holes so not to risk a malfunction in the opening of the hatch (I presume) and blow up the whole thing and so forth.

But it looks so goddamn sweet that I just can't argue with you.

Besides, there are probably a few examples of huge anti-ship torpedoes of that size. I googled some and found that older long range torpedoes looked like that.

Soooo keep up the work! Just DON'T make it any larger xD

Here's one of them larger that I was talking about:

Here's one more modern huge mother fucker:
