Tay, the microsoft chat bot

Microsoft has an interesting new project:

"Tay is an artificial intelligent chat bot developed by Microsoft's Technology and Research and Bing teams to experiment with and conduct research on conversational understanding. Tay is designed to engage and entertain people where they connect with each other online through casual and playful conversation. The more you chat with Tay the smarter she gets, so the experience can be more personalized for you.

Tay is targeted at 18 to 24 year old in the US."

It has been online for a day or so, i think. People can chat with it on twitter and Tay learns new things as she chats. Here are some interesting conversations:

Wasn't the whole thing a 4chan gig or something? At least it offered in interesting insight on how strongly an certain environment can mould the personality of (young) people.
