First time out of the vault
This is a video i put together last night showing the game Team Fortress 2 @ 10,000 FPS slowed all the way down.

This is done all in a period of only one second. Amazing how much detail valve went into.
 
Meh, seems like explosions in TF2 are achieved using a fairly standard combination of point sprite-based particle effects and alpha-blended billboard textures. Nothing to see here, move along. :smug:

I thought that too when I first saw it but then noticed they were lines left by those little glowy things.
