The Simpsons Movie [Possible Spoilers]

Just came back from seeing it. I really don't see how it could be disappointing. I thought it was great, a lot of fun. I laughed pretty much through the whole thing. It's not something incredibly amazing but it does its job. I wasn't really that intense about it before it came out so maybe that's why I wasn't disappointed, but overall I think it actually worked as a movie and didn't feel just like an (over)extended episode.

It needed a lot more Mr. Burns and Moe, in my opinion though.

I would definitely see it again and highly recommend it.
Really?

It's not like I didn't laugh at the gags and jokes, it just seemed so ... blargh.

Some of the jokes seemed forced, and the storyline seemed too cliched for my liking.

Mr. Burns, yes. Moe? No!
They've really crapped on Moe's character. That Moe's life is a pathetic failure and he tries to commit suicide was funny ONCE. But they've gone and repeated that eleventy billion times and made me hate the character.

It was good. Better than I expected, but nowhere near as good as the early episodes.

I was annoyed that the jokes became rather thin on the ground toward the middle of the movie, with the annoying plot/ridiculous drama taking time away from the characters.

It might be wise to skip the cinema and wait for it to come to the small screen.

3.5/5

As a fan of the series since the beginning I was really apprehensive about it being a movie. I figured a movie would only really be appropriate as an "end" to the series. Though that's a very different topic...

I loved the movie! It was like an episode, but alot longer and alot better. I was pretty much laughing the whole time. If it weren't for my current Warcraft 3 addiction I'd probably have spider pig as my avatar right now.

By the way DDD that's awesome they released a normal version after people demanded it.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I consider myself a die hard Simpsons fan so I was going to see the movie on the big screen no matter what. Since the shows have been going downhill in the last couple seasons (I havn't watched the simpsons in primetime in a couple years, but I always watch the reruns on my local channel) I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the movie was pretty damn funny.
