Just saying.

Aww, but then how are you gunna find out where all the globes are? Exploring the landscape through multiple playthroughs is out of the question for you, I'm sure.

Destructoid is probably right they used the guides to get a head start, but funny thing about Prima guides is they tend to be outdated by release. But then the GECK comes around and you can just directly extract stats. Then add the thousands playing the game and willing to submit.

Really, it's just an awesome system.

I didn't really notice too many edits based on the official guide. Most stuff like stats etc. were just based on the GECK, which came out on day 1 (and we have more detailed stats for weapons etc. than they do), and other things were just added by people playing the game.

BTW, for the last two weeks, the number of daily page views at The Vault is higher than any previous Wikia records, including WoWWiki's.

Congratz, you must be so proud :)

I love The Vault, I'm a sucker for any wiki, but this has helped me through many a trial through Fallout 3 and recently New Vegas, had to learn F1 and F2 the hard way, alas.

But the strategy guide was half a million? Seriously? Even last the 861 page Wheel of Time book doesn't have that many words..

The Vault is invaluable for its bug reports in quests. I just two days back gave 20 bucks to wikipedia, love the concept.

fallout 3 is a fps with some rpg thrown in, and does do either good.

And New Vegas is basically the same, just with some improvements. It's a better FPS, mechanically, but thankfully also one who takes its RPG parts more seriously. That said, a bit too much twitchy combat gameplay for an RPG of Fallout's stamp.
Still, the accessible and believable game world, the tangible conflict and the atmosphere generated by the ambience music and Western setting still separates it miles apart from silly Greybore 3.

But i like this (I found it by clicking at Makagulfazel's reddit link, just by random curiosity :) ) http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=24221124&postcount=9108

You could finish Fallout 3 without killing anything as well (well, except for the rad roach at the start). It wasn't very good, gameplay-wise. Dunno if it is for New Vegas either, though it has more naturally non-combat quests (well, quests in general).

I still can't get over the wooden rubble houses, surviving since the war. Maybe I'm just beying picky, though

Actually in a desert environment it isn't too far fetched. Out on the East Coast where it rains a lot and you actually have seasons, I don't think many wooden structures would remain for that long, but out in the desert it's a little different.

There are still ghost towns standing in the American southwest that are entirely made of wooden buildings, that have stood for 150 years without any maintenance.

The problem isn't just structural integrity, and that already is dubious (what about the ski lodge?), it's active use and looting. New Vegas wasn't hit by a bomb, that means a lot of people surviving in the area, scavenging existing structures to build their own homes, using wood from homes for fires or making tools and furniture.

There's also the part when you have to clean the purifier from the mutants.
You could just bring a following, and have him do them in.
