TotalBiscuit E3 Bethesda Highlights

TB has gone on record for not liking Fallout 4 so him not being interested by BGS games is a given. I already expected the snark at the Skyrim 'Remaster' even before it was official.

He did seem impressed by Dishonored 2 but that's mostly because Arkane showed off more actual game-play with UI and unpolished animations.

Who still gives a shit? The other head scratching thing - why didn't they integrate Legends into Skyrim Remaster, it might (or not) even outplay Gwent from Two Chairs 3, it looks quite interesting minigame.
 
It baffles me that Bethesda Game Studio were surrounded by the likes of Arkane Studio and id Software (which even helped them with FO4's gunplay), yet none of there competence inspired BGS at all. Seriously, even Doom 4 (which is first and foremost singleplayer game) still manage to deliver despite id were under some dumb corporate's pressure so they include a multiplayer mode, but BGS?

It should have been called the Ark-id conference even if Bethesda was their publisher. They were the only ones there that showcased interesting games while BGS...
 
Bethesda Softworks is fine for the 90%. BGS should be purged for lazyness. End of cool story. I'm pretty sure it wasn't publisher who asked for dumbing down Fallout 4 itself and release retarded DLC packs but the developers themselves who more interested in TES and unannounced projects more than Fallout. Hell, I find Shelter better and more interesting than F4, and with the last update even more interesting...
 
I saw this when it was posted, and it's pretty damn funny, especially the bloopers like: ...and here's the breast of the company. Or the poorly done demos, complete with subpar frame rate being displayed.

Didn't know about them. I was wrong to not mention them, they seem to be doing some good work with id Software.
 
pete hines is nervous. he clearly were under pressure to give presentation. its like that he doesnt seem fond of these year showcase based on his past tweet.

the crowd were like payed viewer (no offense to them) unlike their reaction in e3 2015. heck, even non-bethesda fans were impressed by these newcomer of E3 back in 2015.
 
I've always enjoyed his work.
Yeah, he seemed to really dislike F4 this time around, which makes me feel a little happy inside.
But I do agree, it's getting a little silly now.
 
Good on TB for finally being one of the few major critics to actually call out Bethesda and Fallout 4 for being an awful RPG and awful Fallout game.

He called it a "glorified Far Cry" and that's pretty much spot on, except I'd say Far Cry at least has better characters, graphics and animations. So basically Fallout is now a worse version of Far Cry. And there is no excuse for Far Cry having better writing than a Fallout game.

And his wife saying "It ruined the franchise" is also spot on. It totally destroyed the Fallout franchise for me. Fallout 4 fans are casual FPS fans, not RPG fans. It's absurd.

There's a critical limit of dumbing down. For some people it was Oblivion and Fallout 3. For me, that limit was reached with Skyrim. For others, it is Fallout 4. Still others will have to wait until Elder Scrolls also has a voiced protagonist and dialogue wheel with even more MMO quests before they decide enough is enough.

They are just taking ideas from Nexus mods now for their DLC. I think all their writers quit or something so they have to make a bunch of Workshop DLC and other paid mods instead of actual expansions.

Then again it could be because there's no RPG in Fallout 4, so there's no way to actually make a story expansion - just more areas for MMO quests, crafting, and looting.
