Okay,Im still trying to get the damn game working.
I came across a message on the user to user tech board for internotplay.
It is supposedly a conglomerate(sp) of cut and pastes of email responses from internotplays tech people to yet another poor soul who spent money on this (not sure it can even be called a game).
it reads as follows: BEGINNING;
line 1 *Click the START button at your desktop.
line 2 *Click on PROGRAMS.
line 3 *Click on 14 DEGREES EAST.
line 4 *Select FALLOUT TACTICS
line 5 *In the menu that opens, right click on FALLOUT TACTICS (Do not left click
as this will start the game).
line 6 *Select PROPERTIES.
line 7 *Click on the FIND TARGET button.
line 8 *Locate your FALLOUTTACTICSLAUNCHER.EXE file and right click on it.
line 9 *Select CREATE SHORTCUT.
line 10 *Right click on the file "SHORTCUT TO FALLOUTTACTICSLAUNCHER.EXE"
line 11 *On the TARGET line, if you installed the game to its default location, it
should read something like "C:\Program Files\14 Degrees East\Fallout
Tactics". Click on the white box to the right of that and the cursor should
be blinking at the end of that line.
*Press the SPACEBAR on your keyboard once and type in:
-nosound -nomusic
*Click on the OK button.
END
It is as far as I can tell instructions for running the game without sound. This is suggested as a way to determine if the sound card and or driver is the problem.
However like the game itself, the directions seem incomplete.
Now when I follow these directions the text in my "target" window reads -----"C:\Program Files\14 Degrees East\Fallout Tactics\FalloutTacticsLauncher.exe"
Now the directions seem to say that I just add the -nosound -nomusic onto the end of that.
Howvere when i do so the game still has sound and still locks up the same as before.
So do I just add the -no sound etc.. part at the end of the line as aimplied ?Or somewhere else ?
And if it indeed gets added at the end, as I have done, why does the sound still play while in game ???????????
Also line 10 does not say what to pick after you right click.
Im assuming the missing instruction is to click on "properties"
Now if you decide (whoever you may be) to reply in an attempt to help ,PLEASE be concise and type out excactly what the new target line should look like.
Lastly this thought has occurred to me lately about many game companies. As a small attempt to humor myself i will ask a simple poll question based on this thought.
What would you be likely to trust the least:
A a politician
B a used car salesman
c an individual convicted of fraud
d Interplay
Like i would with many of the game companies that have brought this question to my mind lately.i would pick D.
