Antediluvian as Feck
Sadder still that Bethesda is seemingly in-character as Vault-Tec [selling their wares], and probably doesn't even realize it.
It's probably the same reason people liked the Silver Shroud quest. It was awful, boring, and the same exact tasks as all the other quests, but compared to the rest of the content in the game it was slightly less awful. It still wouldn't hold up in any other game like Witcher for example. All the DLC's sucked, Far Harbor included. And I don't know why some of you liked Far Harbor, it was boring as shit..
That's giving Bethesda too much credit. If they were the worst, they would still be infamous enough to garner bile curiosity. The writers of Ride to Hell and several other titles are far worsebecause they are the most garbage writers in the entire videogame industry.
Wide as an ocean but shallow as a puddle.
I know. It's been used since Skyrim (and I'd argue since Oblivion) and honestly, it fits Bethesda to a T. That's why I used that analogy here to describe them since they've been proving how much it fits them.I hope you know how much that is used...
For me at least since I went through Morrowind (opinions will differ). In that game, the province of Cyrodiil was described to be a huge rain forest jungle while the Imperials seem to be inspired from the ancient Roman legions rather than simple medieval knights so Oblivion was a step down in terms of depth to me. That's why I'd argue it was shallow since those concepts introduced in Morrowind were tossed aside for something simpler and generic.Wait, Oblivion is considered shallow?
The densely populated central valley is surrounded by wild rain forests drained by great rivers
I recommend it, Bethesda's "prime" before they went creatively bankrupt.Well damn! I was thinking of picking up Morrorwind, but that's a post for another time
If you think that this DLC is the only problematic area of FO4, you may want to brace yourself for the rush of remarks regarding FO4. This site's relationship with FO4 is primarily toxic so if you are easily offended by critique on FO4, you may want to avoid NMA after this post. This is my first time here, and the only reason I joined was to talk about this new DLC.
The reason for my being here came about when I was playing the story mission for this new DLC workshop and I started having problems with the workshop builder, specifically GETTING ANYTHING TO DAMN WELL CONNECT! The structures of this DLC are broken up into there own categories and NONE of them want to EVER CONNECT. Thus, power is not shared unless it is part of the category it came from. For example: I wanted to build the Overseer's Office, I wanted to make it with the Overseer's Office pieces like the other vaults in the game. I wanted it to be on a third story for the imposing look over the atrium looking at everyone who ever comes into the vault. But as I try to make the third floor I find out that NONE of the wall and floor pieces actually want to connect to the floor pieces I was using, I ended up building the general shape of the office on the ground (complete with the circular window. Why would these pieces not want to be together? This would make this underground dwelling quite dangerous as there would be nothing holding up cave for when it starts to collapse on the residents.
To progress in the story mode, I had to build a coffee machine. I wanted it to be in a little diner adjacent to the atrium. The atrium floors do not want to be connected to the full diner I build, so, get this, they don't share the reactor power, so I tried to build a seperate power source for the room, but even when I have it wired up, I still can't get power to the coffee maker! Why doesn't anything work the way you would think it would! What should be simple and straight forward is so awkward and clunking it frustrated me like I would get if I happened to save at the exact moment a Super Mutant Suicider gets to close to me, so ever time I load back, I die again.
I do like the amount of recoarses I get and some of the new items, but dammit if I have to have an ugly shanty town underground. This whole DLC just seems unnecessary and a waste of space. No one seems to have any ACTUAL guilds on how to work this Workshop, but as soon I complete the quest and get the new vault suit, I'm building some places for the settlers to live in and not even bothering to come back.

I bet it would crash any game using Creation Engine .If the game at least went into a top down or isometric mode when you do enter settlement mode, then I would be fine with that. But it doesn't.
In the video I watched a while ago about the Vault Tec Wasteland the interviewer asked 2 of the devs of the DLC that question (well it was more like "What was the inspiration for making this DLC? Why did you make it?") and the answer was this: "Well... Because how cool is it to build your own vault!?".Seriously tho, why would Bethesda do this? This is probably EA level of bullshit. I mean, they already have a Vault based game, but they have to make this?
