And the answer is...

Bakersfield. Look up in an atlas and you'll see it.

RE: And the answer is...

are all the Fallout cities real ones? I know that Reno exists for real, and San Fran (duh)

RE: And the answer is...

They might have built the oil rig in the future before the bombs dropped, so it isn't on the map.

Well...

I looked on a map once, and there was this big X on it with the text "This is where the Oil Rig will be after the Nuclear War"

SAD

Sierra Army Depot is real. My grandfather used to work there. He spent his whole day testiong amunition (shooting big ass guns). Ive been only been there once but its a real place. Broken Hills is also a real place but it is in Austrailia. They filmed "The Road Warrior" like 2 miles away from Broken Hill Austrailia. I think thats where the designers got the idea for it.

Of the ones that exist...

Arroyo is not a place, but a deep, steeply cliffed, flat-bottomed, channel carved by rainwater but usually dry.

Klamath, the real town, is on the western shore of California, and Klamath Falls is too much north of where Klamath in the game is (in Oregon). Thus the Klamath in the game is either incorrectly placed, or made up.

New Reno is actually Reno Nevada and probably renamed to New Reno to make it sound better.

Redding exists in the same spot as in Fallout.

The Military Base/Vats appear to be located where Merced is is.

Modoc Point is farther north than Klamath Falls is and is too far west.

The Fallout 2 Map appears to be located over the following coordinates:

North: The very top of California (42nd degree parellel). You can check this by comparing the shorelines.

South: Slightly below the 37th degree parallel.

East: About the 117th degree meridian.

West: Slightly west of the 124th degree meridian.
