What is your favorite Record (Either of all time, or as of Late)

ResetRPG

Algebraic Geometry and Dandelion Soup
As a music major, I listen to all types of music, ranging from regular top 100 pop (which is not bad and you can fight me on that) all the way to tribal music ranging back thousands of years.

But for the past year or so, 2 records have stuck as my favorite, those being Since I Left You by the Avalanches, and Endtroducing.... by DJ Shadow. (with Shadow taking the lead as of late)

The Interesting thing to me is how similar they are in style, yet how completely different they are in tone, SILY being a Sunny daytime dance record and Endtroducing being an introspective and nocturnal record, two sides of the same coin I may add, one being external and the other being internal.

Both of these records are masterpieces of dance, hip hop, and soul music and have been inspiring to millions of musicians, including myself.

So, I'd like to ask you, what is your favorite record, and why?

Also, if you haven't listened to either, here are links to stream both.

Endtroducing....-

Since I Left You-

Personally I've not enjoyed an album nor had it stick with me or mean as much to me as The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust. It's a great album that I associate with some of the best parts of my life so far. It's also the first vinyl record I bought when I decided to start doing that sort of thing. Moonage Daydream is a particular favourite but I don't think there's a bad song on the entire record.

Since I Left You is actually another close favourite of mine.

Great pick! My favorite Bowie record would probably have to be Blackstar, I found it to be his most enjoyable for me, mostly because of the jazz fusion present on it, Ziggy Stardust comes in at a close 2nd.

Lizzie Borden's Master of Disguise is tied for me with Savatage's Gutter Ballet. Both of them have prog elements but still keep their edge on the metal front, and I just enjoyed how different these albums sound from what was put out at the time.
