What is your top 3 favourite game studios?

Write your top 3 game studios in any format you like but preferably in list format and some notes our explanation beside each one if you like.

1. inXile Entertainment
2.Obsidian Entertainment
3.4AGames

Obsidian Entertainment: They developed a big part of my favorite games. I'm thinking of examples like KotOR II, Fallout: New Vegas, Alpha Protocol or Pillars of Eternity. Then, if you consider the studio as the true successor of the famous Black Isle Studios, there are also classics like Fallout 2 and Planescape: Torment. So yeah, I consider Obsidian #1.

CD Projekt RED: This studio holds up values that should be standard for all (big) studios in the industry. They began quite modestly and evolved to one of the big players. They created an amazing trilogy, proved, that open world and consistent storytelling are possible and with GOG they hold up DRM-free distribution of videogames.

(Pre-EA) BioWare: BioWare made a lot of good games in the past. I'm thinking of classics like the Baldur's Gate series but also more modern series like Dragon Age or Mass Effect. The studio changed a lot since EA stepped in though. It began with the demise of the founders and with each game more and more core-developers left the studio. Probably EA will shut it down some time.

I guess Obsidian because I like the RPG's they create. InXile because they're on a kickstarter spree for RPG's. And finally... Fuck it, Dennaton. I love Hotline Miami.

Obsidian (or the Black Isle Umbrella)- I think this is a given by now considering I'm on the forum. But I've made it my life's mission to play every Obsidian release (Just bough Alpha Protocol today so I'm looking forward to starting that). I would say Inixille, but I've not played enough games by them to really judge. So for now, I'm going to kind of group them with Obsidian along with Black Isle Studios, which reminds me I should really play more BIS outside Fallout.

Kojima Productions- Kind of cheating as I've only really played the Metal Gear series from these guys. But considering Metal Gear is my favourite series, it feels criminal not putting Kojima's company on here.

Rockster/Bioware- Again, I'm cheating on this as I put two companies at a tie. I would say Rockstar for making open-world interesting. Most companies (Ubisoft) don't really know how Open World Works, Rockstar just make their games interesting. San Andreas is just a fun game overall and I adore GTAV.
Bioware, mostly because I like KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights and Mass Effect. When they get things right, they really get things right. While I admit ME3 has its flaws, I find a lot of them were down to EA. Otherwise, I genially enjoy their releases.

Honorable mentions go to
Square
Sega AM2
Project Soul (Pre Soulcalibur V)
ID Software (Pre Rage, I still need to play Doom 3 through)
Bungie (During the Halo days, but mostly because I had good memories playing Halo)

Rockstar, I've loved every game that these guys have made except for bully.
Obsidian/Black Isle Fallout 1, 2, NV and kotor 2.
Bethesda, they've made games that I've consistently enjoyed for years even if their games have shallow quest design. I like them better than bioware, even old school bioware to be honest. EDIT Changed my mind actually, Valve is my 3rd choice now.

Weird question though, am I the only person here who doesn't like Baldur's Gate and enjoys Fallout 1 and 2 immensely more? I've only played Baldur's Gate 1 and I haven't tried Baldur's Gate 2 yet but I couldn't stand the first one, does not hold up well at all, even the "enhanced" edition, which is overpriced btw. I loved Dragon Age 1 and I've seen plenty of people on the codex (reputable I know) and in other circles say that it has nothing on Baldur's Gate. I didn't see that at all and I put 15 hours into it, I'd rather play Daggerfall honestly... Apples and Oranges though.

Eurocom (only for their one game, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. I don't think they're alive anymore though)

Capcom.

Koei.

I could name a ton of Indie companies, so I'll only do well known ones.

Rockstar, Valve, and Obsidian, in no order.

Obsidian/Black Isle, Bioware, and Double Fine/LucasArts.

Simply put, these folks are responsible for some of my favorite games of all time.
