Where's the gas?

taag

Still Mildly Glowing
I'm freezing my ass over here in Europe. I guess I'll have to burn a few Ukranian / Russian flags to warm myself up.
So anyone else having a gasless 2008/2009 winter?

I'm only heating up my living room to save money, so whenever I go into the kitchen or bathroom or bedroom I can relate.

How do you cook?

That's insane. Talk about a chokehold on a nation.

And that's a good question, how DO you cook?

Does this affect your electrical generation as well?

I love living in a country with its own gas supplies.

I hate the snow outside.

In which country are you living ? Just curious

Haha! Romania gets 30 percent of its gas from Russia. But we are also producers of gas and oil. We can last for 100 days without imports. Russia wants a pipeline that bypasses Ukraine altogether, to go though my country. I say no! Of course, there are some economic advantages, but then, when Putina wants to pull the plug it can do so without affecting other naions, except the ones it wants to punish...

Doesn't affect the electricity afaik, only the heating. I saw in the news that some people are using electrical radiators.

Some countries rely on gas or oil to power thermo-electric generators.

Where do you live taag? Fortunately we have no restrictions for communal and private gas, but this whole scenario is fucking angering. I bet if we build a new gaspipeline, Putyin will just simply attack the gassupplying countries. :S

Uhn tiss uhn tiss, baby. Poland has enough gas reserves to last well into the Spring, including heavy industry needs.

Anyhoo, my house has an electric stove and most rooms have electric heaters.

power usage is down by more than 5% since people are trying to save money with the crisis and all.

so there's no effect on the glorious nation of Belgistan.

electric stoves have very bad energy to heat ratios. not to mention it costs more to heat with electricity.

and on top of that your electricity comes from fucking coals... stop it asshole, you're ruining our air!

They might have bad energy to heat radios, but with this thing my grandmother won't set fire to the house.

And don't blame me for the ineptitude of Polish energetic strategies. Blame Siley.

'Sides, a little bird told me some coal power plants are run by BELGISHISHISHIAN companies. So you're the one ruining our air!
