Who are all you people?

I thought I would come out of the Order basement and check some of the NMA forums. What I find really interesting is that there are so many new people posting here.

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE!

No really I am very interested to know what made you come here and for the any old accounts what made you start posting again. You tend to see a pattern now when a new Fallout announced you get a heap of new people come in and bitch and whine for the next 8 months and then you disappear. New Fallout announced and you all come back again why? I want to know what the fuck draws all you back here? Honestly is it magic? is this place filled with such hate and contempt that some how gives it powers. Every time a new fallout is announced maybe the hate grows and grows and thus giving some sort of NMA demon power, maybe once that power grows he begins to draw more people in.

I just don't understand what the fuck is going on.

Why are you here?

That's as good a description as any on how I came to join NMA.

The Emperor calls. Or maybe NMA is like the WAAAGH.

More seriously, I came here in around 2010 and used the place as a news site, barely aware of the existence of a forum, then I started lurking a bit until in a sleep-deprived state I decided to create an account and start posting (hence the unoriginal name) I now use this place to restore my sanity after spending too much time exposed to the stupidity of the internet.

P.S. The Order is superior.

I came here often for the news around 2009 when New Vegas was being promoted, decided to sub later on. Gonna be honest at first I was a little put off by the negativity but I found out the crazies where a minority and most people where pretty reasonable.

Kharn failed at webhosting his site(I bet he left that out in the iNxile interview) and thus The Order was moved here(or returned home) and where The Order goes I follow.

NINJA LURKER

I came here seeking refuge from some kind of strange plague. This plague was highly infectious and symptoms included not realising Fallout was being dolled up and pimped out by a creepy uncle (not my quote but Ioved it).

When asking for steak, the infected gave me fish, I complained, was told said fish was steak, and told thats what steak was(another great quote, a bit off maybe).

I thought I was going mad as this infection had so thoroughly spread. Felt a bit like the last man on earth until I found a badass survivalist community here. After recovering from the trauma, I started arguing politics.

PS: And did some heavy RP for a time, Welsh, where did you go???

OK, fucked up on the quotes royally but had the same message in mind.

Originally, I came for the Killap's FO2 patch. I was a regular until about a year and a half ago. Life got busy (stupid real life) and what little time I spend on the PC is spent modding New Vegas. About the time of the FO4 announcement I realized I could do most of this crap on my cell phone from anywhere.

Came for mods, stayed for the forum itself. Overall, it is pretty cool.

I have heard of NMA a long time ago, something like 10 years even, but didn't check it out because the name made me think people here are just a bunch of xenophobes. (I was 12 at the time :P)
And recently I came here because of the reputation of Bethesda-hating, Fallout 3-bashing cesspit of elitists. Sounds like just the place for me I thought, and turns out I was somewhat right. :D

I came to NMA back in the olden days for some Fallout 1 and 2 info due to my uncle (personal friend of Miroslav) telling me about it. Back in those days I didn't have a lot of computer time so it slipped out of my memory until I stumbled upon it once again, newly risen from the ashes. I didn't make an account right off the bat due to the fear of Wooz and Roshambo molesting my man parts but I finally registered, somehow finding my way into the depths of the Order where I wasn't exactly welcome. I stuck around NMA for years, lurking in the Order and occasionally making some posts there. At one time I was offered a moderator position when a lot of guys left, but I was afraid I couldn't tell people to fuck off if I did that so I declined.

Around the time of Fallout 3 I didn't understand all of the negativity - I liked Morrowind once so I gave Bethesda the benefit of the doubt and frankly I hadn't read up on what they were doing to it. I actually hadn't heard of Van Buren until around 2005. Brother None called me a pussy after I got curb stomped by some NMA users and whined about it and that was the moment I turned to the dark side. I became more aware of what was happening to the franchise, especially once I stumbled across POS. I grudgingly played Fallout 3, modding it to my every whim and desire, but I soon realized the mods just kept needs to be added for me to even enjoy the game. Then the attacks on the original games came and that could not be allowed. I have been a Glittering Gem of Hate ever since.

I think I first found this place looking for the famous children-fix-patch-mod, then looking for RP-related stuff, and since I have a kind of strained relationship to most of society and co-humanity, it took me several years before I stopped and realized "wait, this is my favorite game, this forum has a black background color, which is soothing - why am I not joining!?"

I think I stumbled over NMA back when I was searching for information on Fallout 3 (Van Buren) when it was announced. Lurked for years and mostly used the front page for Fallout-info. Then 2010 or so when I finally played Fallout 3 I came back and made an account on the forum, because people seemed cool and likeminded in their disappointment in Fallout 3.

I originally found out about NMA through The Vault, back in 2008 or so, around time when FO3 was at its highest. I first registered to Duck and Cover actually, which was, at the time, pretty much dead - all the while I was lurking here since I heard so many bad things about the place and I wasn't sure if I'd fit in. After my short tour there, I left DAC and came here.

Of all the websites and forums I've joined over the years, and there were plenty, NMA is the oldest one where I still have an active account, and it is one of the first forums I've joined.

I was looking for my father. Middle aged guy. So I stranded here. You've seen him? [Speech: 45%] I miss him so much!!!

Yes, he was here a couple of hours ago, he had a few drinks, he complained about water-politics, he banged a few prostitutes, broke our radio, and took off in an amazing hurry. In fact, I never saw a man move so fast in my life

let's see been lurking since after New Vegas in one form or another, finally decided to actually sign up after the initial post trailer bump if you will. I also used to chat and hangout at the Pre-Split Vault wiki and, met several NMA people and they further hipped me to this place.
