Who are the most poorly voice-acted/poorly cast characters in New Vegas?

That covers most of the *bad* ones.

In general, played it safe. Only revoiced the ones where there was 100% agreement they needed to be revoiced. If there was cases where people conflicted and said "no", ie. Sunny Smiles, benny, Betsy, Oliver Swanick, mister Fantastic, etc....I played it safe and didn't touch em.

I'd have to say the most difficult character to fill has been Ranger Andy.

I'm trying to choose an older sounding 55-65 year old African-American voice actor who sounds grizzled, a warrior, etc. and can act. Deep voice. Someone like Keith David would be great.

Really hard to find this.

The voice actors who can do this and do it well are asking 300, 400, 500 dollars to act these out. It's because they generally have a lot of voice-acting experience and don't do their services cheaply.

Anyone else either sounds too young or doesn't sound the part.

Another alternative is to get someone to sound like the original voice actor, Emerson Brooks. That's far, far easier. Emerson Brooks' voice in the voice-acting world is called baritone. A baritone tone is right in between tenor and bass. And there are quite a few baritone actors.

But I feel like it wasn't just Ranger Andy's acting that was off (emotion) but the voice itself. Emerson Brooks' voice wasn't the best match to begin with.

Best-case situation I can find an older-sounding gentleman who can sound the part and do so at a reasonable price.

Worst-case situation, I find a Emerson-Brooks' voice-type but with superior acting.

Wow that's awesome work there! Especially on Clanden, very creepy.

actually find Sunny Smiles to be rather poorly voice acted. She lacks inflection in her voice, at at times she sounds almost robotic.

Is it weird that I agree the performance is somewhat flat sometimes and yet I still like her voice? I've heard her voice in Dishonored so maybe that's why.

If you're still looking for suggestions there's Jean-Baptiste Cutting, and Sammy and Pauline Wins.

Holy shit man, the voice actor for Ranger Andy is excellent. Perfect casting, Dracomies, I do recall you saying you struggled to find an actor for him for a while.

Great work so far, I am personally loving most of the new voice actors. I mentioned a few pages back (and seem to be the only one who has) to suggest Daniel Contreras (the shady NCR armory guy) as someone who needs a new voice actor - if you were still looking to re-voice certain NPCs. His lines in the base game were rushed and awkward.
