Why InXile, Wasteland 2 are better off without a publisher

I also hope he doesn't take the audio thing too literally. When it comes to mediums that have both sound and picture, SOUND DOMINATES PICTURE. There are no exceptions.

Fair enough. And when it comes to text? Who dominates who?

Doesnt the Mutant Rising Mod have talking heads?

Hey there. Yes it does. When the final version goes out we hope you sincerely enjoy them. With that said and as a professional voice actor, I'd rather the game be super deep and text only. Sound would be cool, but (true story) it's super expensive.

If I was to hire some voice actors I would completely omen some fancy named ones because they add NOTHING to the value of the game. Take a look at Jagged Alliance 1 & 2. Canadian actors, completely unknown to the rest of the world and voice acting is top notch.

Hire them for some VO, intro and closing cards and we're all set :)

Yeah, this.

I'd personally prefer no voiced dialogue at all, but some soundsets (maybe 10-11) per gender for you to choose to give your party members. They have 1-2 lines for certain actions (getting hit, near death, player is "activated" etc) and that's it.

Like: "Grumpy old warrior"
"Pissed off Housewife"

etc. ;P
Like in Icewind Dale and such. Voiced over dialogues are completely useless, at least for me as I never really listen to it and read the text much faster than the guy/gal speaks.

I'm personally in the line of what Planescape: Torment did.
Introductory sentences, action-specific and the most prominent, 'iconic' sentences - only those having a VO - nothing beats that, if you ask me.
Doing full VO was always annoying for me, some hefty writing is just enough.
