First time out of the vault

I was just wondering why obsidian didn't try and buy the license for fallout considering the fact that most of the devs at BIS went to work there.
Hardly the point.onemic said:what games have troika made? I've never heard of that developer before. And wouldn't obsidian have had enough money considering their development history? Plus even though the dev's at obsidian worked on fallout 2 that doesn't mean that they wouldn't be skilled enough to work on fallout 3. At least it would be better than than bethesda(which is still a great dev company IMO)
Er...no it doesn't. Not in making RPGs a la Fallout, at least.Corsair65 said:Are you kidding? Does Obsidian have anything good to it's name? People are concerned about Bethesda, but at least Bethesda has a reasonably good track record.
It was a better role-playing game, though.Corsair65 said:Obsidian has made KotoR II, which was not as good as KotoR by a long shot,
NWN2 was vastly different from the first game. It was focused on a single-player game, filled with choices and a responsive world. The first game's single-player campaign, on the other hand, was the biggest piece of trash I've ever witnessed.Corsair65 said:Neverwinter Nights 2, which was a failure compared to the original...actually, that's all they've made. They're nothing special. I'm glad they didn't pick it up.

Er, yeah, neat.Corsair65 said:All Obsidian does is pick up off Bioware's leavings. If you want a game developer for something, look to Bioware over Obsidian any day of the week. NWN2 might have had a superior campaign, but check it out! It's a while since the game's release, but hardly anyone has made any noteworthy modules for it.
