Yushchenko poisioned with Dioxin

Well, really. Might as well break out of the closet and beat each other with big sticks if they're going to be childs over this anyway. Hurting your opponent was a kind of strategy I used when I was a kid, and it proves how immature you are (i.e incapable of anything else than brute force). Compare argument pwnage to beating pwnage.
 
Well, in this case, it isn't about ethics between rivals in an electoral campaign. It's a throat-ripping fight to gain control over a significally strategic piece of land, in which people in high places can make lot of money and power. A lot.

Now, the established, corrupt puppet government (See Mexico's 70 year rule of the PRI party for an example of such a thing) doesn't want to lose all the money, power and privileges. To illustrate the situation, as I pointed out in another thread already, the *only* mobile-phone company in Ukraine is owned by Kuczma's wife, and it charges two euros for every call's minute. Not to mention the refineries, mines and so on.

So, what does the goverment do to avoid losing its position? Fuck up the only possible rival. It's as simple as that.
 
They didn't bargain on this mutilation being a boost to his popularity, contributing to a new type of charismatic and more importantly tough 'monster from the black lagoon' politician no doubt.
 
If I was Yushchenko I would be so pissed there would be no words to describe, as I am sure he is. I don't think I could think straight, my goal in life would be to castrate the motherfuckers using a shotgun.

That is an unbelievably barbaric mutilation, and as I understand it, it will never go away. Putting aside the cliche that "it's what's inside that counts", what would you do if every morning when you looked into a mirror you would be reminded of the brutality of what was done to you.

I hope he wins, I hope he finds exactly who was responsible, and I hope he gets to shoot them personally. These are my sincere Christmass whishes for him.

I also hope that Russia is then screwed diplomatically for supporting Yanukovitch, because Putin is a meddling, murdering fuckard himself. You do not rise in the ranks of the KGB by being nice, and keeping your hands free of the stain of blood.
 
A reason Yuschenko has credibility with the west is his restraint in using force. The measure of a great leader is whether they can look past the injustices placed on them by their rivals and to the good of his people (so sayeth Murdoch at least). The second Yushchenko puts down the pen and picks up the sword is the moment when he loses his greatest leverage- his relationshiop with the west.

Besides, revenge is a dish best served cold. Better to humiliate your rivals via democracy rather than martyr them via bloodshed.
 
hmz i heard or read 5 years. i think they also said he'll need 10 years to rebuild his immune system & get his health back. (that is not counting possible cancers and stuff like that though)

There appeared to be little lasting damage to Mr Yushchenko's internal organs, though experts say it could take more than two years for his skin to return to normal.

Well, even Croatia looks like a democratic paradise in comparison. At least our president didn't get mutilated by his political enemies. That's not to say no one ever thinks of trying it, but the poor man's natural fugliness would make it a wasted effort.
