Damn zegh, you're making me sad about fossils. You used to just make me happy about them.

Good news! Poached fossils of 3 undiscovered Oviraptorids returned to Mongolia a year or two ago recieved formal description today - Oksoko avarsan, and might resolve a lot of confusion around poorly known species Ingenia/Heyuannia yanshini.

Illustration I made some time ago, uncautiously identifying it as Ingenia/Heyuannia yanshini (the fossils were unstudied at the time, but beautifully preserved)

Oksoko, unlike Ingenia, had only 2 fingers per hand. My drawing ended up being sort of a mish-mash between the two, based mostly on Oksoko (since Ingenia is too fragmentary)
Jesus christ how sick I am of imperial measurements - and it's the default in so many sites, every time I hafta find a converter!

It's hypocryte at its finest when fahrenheit is considered more precise due to more value between boiling point and freezing point but considering feet&inch easy to visualize compared to cm 1-100 scale. And barrel/gallons? is this medieval time to measure based on non standard container? ml --> L, just multiply it with 1000 and you do fine.
Store only sells raw unsalted macadamia nuts, so I bought 2 packs, and salted and roasted them in a pan, and now theyre SO fffucking good!

Mussolini's lynching is like.. super satisfying though. I like that they strung his wife up with him.

Hitler's family changed their last names, and sought to distance themselves from him. Mussolini's grand daughter tho? Keeps the last name, goes into politics and spouses his same views. And also gets on twitter fights about how "Mussolini was good, actually".

My god, stress really is the worst... as soon as I piss myself off, it's followed by a cascade of more, itching, snot, sweat, just - MORE

Yeah, I got some of that, but in general, life is a lot more managable the past few years, which has also resulted in less stress symptoms. Maybe that's also why I sooo hate the symptoms of acute stress when they *do* re-occur, ugh...

Like, dude, okay - I don't even drive, and I hate bicyclists - but come on! Let me live! I only ever go on the designated paths!

Fucking three times in 45 minutes, some asswipe tried to run me over IN a pedestrian crossing - one time WITH other pedestrians WITH me, like "i will murder CHILDREN to get you, BICYCLIST!"

At least your condom-suited yobbers ride at decent speeds. Here it's middle-aged men with overpriced bikes riding along like a tortoise blocking me on a shitty three-speed lump of steel as old and rusty as them.

    zegh8578
Yeah, I kinda like those dudes with the 100% aerodynamic gear, with the shark-fin-shaped helmets. In the downhills, they just lean over their steering, and turn into speed blurs.
One of the depressing things bout googling stuff lately, is all the "U WANNA BUY!?" results. No, man, I'm just curious bout stuff...

Like now, I'm trying to research door-lock nomenclature, basically. What are door lock components called? ALL I get, ALL I get, are offers to buy high security door locks, prices, prices, prices, buy, buy, buy, ORDER HERE, ORDER NOW, it's depressing...

If you google enough rope to hang yourself you used to get ads for rope and google would only post suicide prevention line if you did it twice. It's been fixed but that was always super funny to me.
Lately I'm spotting Mars a lot, in the eastern sky, fairly low in the sky, but well above the horizon

    zegh8578
While I usually see Venus take a travel across the eastern sky, low horizon to low sky, around dawn-hours, I tend to spot Mars earlier in the evening, around 6-8 maybe, I haven't made sure. I'm now curious how come I never spotted it before, or at least not with such clarity.

Not as exciting as aliens. I knew one fathead that was pointing at something all night thinking it was a UFO. I eventually stopped trying to tell him it was a satellite and went in the house.
Btw, as much as I love bikes, I'm never getting a bicycle-guy outfit, god those condom-suits are obnoxious

I did get myself a sort of light-weight water-proof outdoors-attire though, all black, so I put that shit on, my helmet, aviators (for the wind, and bonus untrustworthyness) and my bicycle gloves if the rain and wind is extra brisk. All that together, I must admit myself, makes me look ridiculously awesome
would it be weird if I just went and bought a jar of pesto, and ate that shit with a spoon?

The chance of being struck by lightning is 1 to 700 000.

If lightning equalled a billion stupid dollars, then congrats, you have a world view where you consider it a fucking privilige to exist in an environment where you slave your wage away, in the slim chance a lightning will strike you, blessing you with the ONE only possible blessing the desired society has to bestow upon you

Super duper, you live in a world where you MIGHT be the one man to invent something truly new, "from your garage", or more likely, inherited the means to conglomerate existing fortunes together. Which one is it? You inventing something brilliant yet?
