They should just dump the 1 human 1 non-human companion limit and make Charisma limit party size like it did in Fallout 2 while still increasing effectiveness as in New Vegas. Characters with high Charisma would be a force to be reckoned with.

I've done the same thing on my second playthrough. The quest will still start at the Scrapyard when the first message is played.

Found an unlikely workaround. Turns out you can save your game during the ending slides so just make a save once you've advanced a little bit, load it, and then keep loading and saving as the slides advance. You should be able to get through them all eventually. Real pain in the ass though.

My game consistently crashes during the ending slides. I just finished the game and cannot get through them without a CTD. Needless to say it's quite frustrating particularly as I didn't have very many technical issues throughout the game. It varies on where it crashes but I've never managed to...

It's not like a companion quest and a major event in the game's backstory revolve around this location or anything. I honestly get how you might miss this since I found Boone's quest pretty hard to trigger without consulting the wiki but c'mon look this shit up before writing an article on it.

The Kings. Which is particularly hilarious as I thought the Kings would be one of the most ridiculous factions in the game. After a while though I wanted to be able to put the King in charge of New Vegas. :P
