I got a problem with Fallout2 Patcher

When i try to patch , it says 'Patch 67 : patch did not match data from file' :(

Is there any way to use Fallout2 Patcher :?:

Will your addon pack contain unfinished quests?
If so did you think about contacting the designers to ask how they wanted those unfinished quest to be?


Do I always have to restart the game if you come out with a new version or is continuing a running game no problem?

What are you trying to patch it for? The .exe that comes with my patch already supports a slowdown of the map as well as unlimited cities.

Please ask such questions in my expansion pack thread. To answer your question though yes, unimplemented quests, locations, etc will be added. I do not plan on contacting the makers of the game.

For my patch, no you will not have to keep restarting if you are are already using a fairly recent version of it. (one released in 2006) If you are asking about my future expansion pack, they yes you will most likely have to restart the game with each release (each MAJOR release at least) I have not thought this through all the way, but I will definitely try and keep this to a minimum.

Ok, thats fine. Go ahead and delete the .exe that comes with my patch and grab the one that comes in the official 1.02d (or whatever language you have) and use that instead. The patcher should then work as it is supposed to.
 
Mistakes in dialogues.

Talk with Mynoc before talking with Elder.
To dialogue lines about Vic and about the water flask will appear. How did the Chosen know about that?

Talk with Jo in Modoc before talking with Balthas. Make Ghost Farm's Quest. Meet johnny in the lake. When you return and talk Jo about note from the slags, the dialogue line about the jonhy will appear. But, how the Chosen know this?

In New reno, Mrs. Bishop. I agree take a drink with her. But, in the room, I disagree have a sex, then she call the guards. The game crash in this moment. :(

Killap, an issue that one user reported at the Polish fora, and I didn't see in Corrections note:

If you steal the Spy Holodisk from Guenther, you can give it to him again for your reward. Could this be fixed so that he only gives it once?

This should be fixed in 1.02.
 
I have a strange crash when entering Modoc or Vault City. I haven't been in these towns, and when I press the triangle on the map to enter the town the screen goes black and the game crashes. I don't know what the error message is because the whole screen is black except the task manager window. I have the Killap's patch and the children patch. Any idea what could be causing this problem?
 
First of all respect for this great enthusiastic work killap, just keep on doing it, there are a lot of ppl who really appreciate it.

Second thing, I noticed that if you upgrade a weapon at Vallery in VC after you get her tools (and before you give super tool to Skeeter) Skeeter will not give you his second quest (to get him a part from nuclear plant). I think it has something to do with checking if you already got that free weapon upgrade from him which it then mistakens with the one from Vallery, or it has something to do with the way you fixed that you can't get more than one part from the plant? Hope it helps in some way...

I don't think it's related to children, to my mind there aren't children on the first map in Modoc. Try running without mod, or without the children patch.

I am not sure what you are referring to here. The only Johnny line I see is the one where the Chosen One will say that Johnny is being held by the Slags. This line will only appear if you talked with Johnny. Can you please explain this a bit more?

Actually, from what I understood (and remember fixing) the bug was actually that the traveller would place the SAD on your map when really it should have been the Military Base.

Yes, this is indeed a bug. I narrowed it down to the call to "set_hostile" in Mrs. Bishop's script. Now, I have no idea why this is the cause of the issue, but commenting it out stops the lockup. I am surprised no one has reported this before. Apparently no one wants to refuse sex from Mrs. BIshop. :wink: 8)

But, how the chosen one know Jonny come from modoc? Jonny dont tell it. Jo dont tell it.

For exemple. Arrive in modoc, speak only Jo, go to the ghost farm, talk to jonny. He say: "my name is jony". Jonny tell you your name, only. Then, return to modoc, talk to jo: "The slags are holding jonny, etc, etc."... But, I didnt know that jonny is from modoc and I didnt know Jonny is missing. That line should appear if I had talked with Balthas.

For exemple.
I aks for music. They dont play. I leave and return to the map. I ask again for music, then they play. If I ask again and again, the music changes.

The first time that I arrive the map and ask for music, they dont play. The second time, they play.

Other problem with me:
Prospector in ghost farm dont force dialogue when I arrive there at night. I can walk peacefully among them. Te protector follow me for the map, but dont force dialogue.

I am surprised no one has reported this before. Apparently no one wants to refuse sex from Mrs. BIshop. Wink Cool

I prefer her daughter. Fresh meat. :lol:
Actually, I am just hunting bugs and testing.
I am waiting the next release of its patch.

Actually the call to have the guard come running works just fine. I narrowed it down to just the call to set_hostile in Mrs. Bishop's script. Commenting this out will not crash the game and the guard will run into the room just fine. I am not sure why the call to set_hostile causes a crash though. Any idea?


EDIT:
belengario, could you please test this updated script and tell me if the band in New Reno now works as it should. Just go to your Fallout 2 scripts directory, delete the older script file and replace it with this newer one.
