Heh, it is quite a battle alright. 8)

Well, the bug reports trickle in now and then, but honestly I think I have squashed every known bug. (script ones) I myself have stopped searching for bugs, so new releases of this patch will only occur when people report new bugs they find

Now that my classes are winding down and I have completed most of my exams, I should finally be able to sit down and work on the expansion pack. That will indeed be a slow project since I am only one man. I do hope I can get something out to everyone before Fallout burnout takes on new meanings for me.
 
Cool. I hope to do more bug testing for you in the future, but right now I don't even have time to sit and play through Fallout 2 like I did in the past.
 
belengario, could you please test this updated script and tell me if the band in New Reno now works as it should. Just go to your Fallout 2 scripts directory, delete the older script file and replace it with this newer one.

Even with this update script, they only sing if I leave of the map, return and pay again. The same problem. This can be a problem of my game, Right? Did other members already complain of the same problem?

Ok, yeah that is exactly what I remember was the problem and what I fixed. Thanks, I just wanted to double check that those were indeed the issues at hand.
 
If Frank dies while "prone", he doesn't do his cool death animation. Is this fixable?

Could you have the game put Frank's weapons in the PC's inventory when he dies or you leave the oil rig, so I don't have to mess around with violence settings and killing teammates? Or is that more of an "expansion pack" thing?
 
I haven't played the game in a long time, so my knowledge of it is a bit rusty.

But isn't it true that the Brotherhood bases in the Den and NCR have absolutely nothing inside them? Did the developers forgot to put goodies in them or were they meant to be that way? I'm pretty sure its the former.
In your next release Killap, could you please add some items in the bases like Celestial did with his patch?

That's an "expansion pack" thing. Not a bug fix.

Most of bugs are in "unfixed" state.
For example i'll try to translate one entry:

Smiley learn Choosen Outdoorsman skill upto 300%.
Conditions: after rescue Smiley from Toxic Caves , you need to talk with him and increase your Outdoorsman skill (+3%). After it, talk again , and again ...
Main point: After each of talk you increase your Outdoorsman skill (+3%).
Treatment: unknown.

This bug is resolved in 1.02d official patch. Like some others from that list. I saw "Where's Suliks' sister?" listed there... Funny, aint it?
 
I have read through the Readme File 1.4 - 29 January 1999 Patch Version 1.02d and I have not seen correction for this bug in the fixeslist

It doesn´t list all the fixes since 1.0 (it is little stupid).
 
That topic dated March of 2005 year. I would not think that there wrote "treatment unknown" on all listed bugs.
Anyway i just want to help.

If you guys could translate that list for me and filter out ones already fixed in the official patches and/or my patch I would really appreciate it. It would really speed things up for me since I don't really have the time to devote to that.
 
Okay Killap, I've been playing the game for a while with your patch and came across a bug, but I'm sure this was in the unpatched 1.00 version and that you'd fixed it.

When I take the Pretty Lloyd quest and go down to the fallout shelter to get to the chest and take the $1000, after taking a few steps, the game just crashes, nothing works but the music keeps running. Whats up?

Actually, I had played the game two weeks ago with your patch and di d the same thing and it didn't crash but its doing it now.

Also, once when I was in the Slag caves and at the map where all the children and Johny are, I looked at one of the girls there and the description read "Error", but then I did it again and it read normally

Finally, you said that T-Ray was all fixed up, but I found a little bug. If I tell him I'm one of Bishop's lieutents and I'm there to pick up the car and offer him $900 for the car, one of the dialouge options after that is Error.
 
Killap, Miria bug.

Slaves and modocs people war. Grishmas die. I go out the ghost farm map. Return to modoc. Take Miria e have a sex with her. Grishmas show up, error messagens above him, wedding, grishmans...

Persistent bug.
 
Another bug I found. Right when I got the Hy-Mag from Vault City and installed it at Gecko, I went to talk to Harold and the first dialouge choice at the top was something along the lines of "I'm going to get the hy-mag and install it".


First of all, that dialouge choice should not be there in the first place and when I selected it, the conversation just ended, probably because it wasn't supposed to be there.
 
Some bugs from russian users of the patch ;).

Modoc:
• Jo now places Gecko on your map after he tells you the location of it. -- bug: he doesn't.

Misc:
• Various instances of the so called barter-upgrade exploit - Fixed for Morlis and the flint -- bug: still can get two flints from Morlis

NCR:
• NCR now has a entrance greeting message -- bug: it doesn't

There is also some info about NPC forgetting combat settings: to make NPCs work correctly, you must pack their pro-files into master.dat.
 
Hey Killap, I just discovered that after using your patch (version A from January on a 1.02 and deleting patch000.dat), I can no longer complete rebecca's quest to get the "lavender flower"-book back. Can't remember what the name of the guy who has it is, but I know where he was standing in the 1.02 patch and I can no longer talk to him. I never had problems finishing the quest in 1.02, though. I can send you a savegame if you want me to.
