Dang, well I'll try hard to remember...

First I should mention, ignore Vault City and Gecko, after finding the crash bug I just plowed ahead. Meaning, I played the game in the correct order. Arroyo => Klammath => Toxic Caves => Den => Modoc => Ghost farm.

1. Got to Modoc, picked up Investigate Ghost Farm quest.
2. Then picked up Guard Grisham's Brahmin quest and completed it.
3. Picked up Cornelius's Gold watch quest and Jonny is missing quest - then headed to Ghost farm.
4. edit: Arrived and captured by armed guards (not sure day or night), spoke to what's his name, agreed. Ran north, saw Jonny, then headed back to Modoc.
5. Delivered message from Slags, mentioned I saw Karl in the Den.
6. Picked up and attempted Farrel's rodent farm. *NOTE BELOW* 7. Completed Cornelius's Gold watch quest.
8. Decided to go to Ghost Farm. Freezes (you're right, not crashes). Went back to Den, told Karl to come back, then went to Vault City, then Gecko.


Before I forgot, killed all rodents in Farrel's farm, he doesn't reward / Pipboy doesn't update. I *think* I got the quest experience immediately after killing the last rodent though.

I believe this was in the right order.

Hmm... I just did a quick playthrough and did exactly what you said. No freeze. In addition Farrel's quest does cross out. You have to talk with him after killing all the rodents. Did you do this? And yes, you should get the xp right after killing all the rodents. (Your character will also give a text float saying that was the last of the rodents)

Can anyone else confirm the Ghost Farm issue?
 
Ah very interesting. I checked right now - zoned out of town, zoned back in the farm, confirmed all rodents are dead (ran around the map), went to talk to Farrel, he still directs me to the farm, I spawn there and the map is still clear. Repeat.

Sucks that we couldn't reproduce the bug, maybe I'm missing something. Without a doubt I saved Cornelius's watch for last since I knew it would cover the town in crap, and completed Grisham's Brahmin quest first because it auto-teleports you there.
 
Well not sure... I did the watch quest last as well. Seems odd that you are experiencing something I cannot reproduce. Quite distressing.

Regarding the rodent quest. Do you remember getting a text float for it? Only when you see that (and get 300xp) are you sure the quest is done.
 
Sorry, I had a late night class.

Regarding the rodent quest, I am 75% sure I saw the gain 300xp and you killed all the rodents text float for it- After killing (what I thought was the last rodent), I gained a level, so there is a possibility I'm mixing up the text with that.

Additionally, I loaded up an old save (back at Den), ran straight to Modoc, got the Jonny and Ghost farm quest, ran to the Ghost farm, accepted the message quest, spoke with Jonny, observed the dead bodies, ran back to Modoc, completed the Ghost Farm solution, told Balthas I saw his kid, ran back to Ghost Farm and...couldn't reproduce the freeze :(

I also loaded the file I sent you, tried different combinations with party members (going without Miria, by myself, etc), still would freeze.

One thing I do remember though, after accepting the message quest from the leader of the Slags, I went to the upper level and opened up the chests before leaving. Other than that...can't think of anything :(
 
What I need to do if I wish to disable fire gecko skinning and get three upgrades from Skeeter in Gecko? Yes, I like play with greatest user-made patch in the world, but some fixes, imho, were not necessary...sorry :)

Well, according to the devs the fire gecko pelts was actually a bug. As for the Skeeter upgrade thing, I am not sure what you mean. I don't remember altering anything with Skeeter and how he upgrades. Could you elaborate on this?

As for removing the fire gecko skinning ability it would just require the removal of 2 scripts, so it can easily be done.

Just go to your scripts folder and remove the following scripts. These were never updated in the official 1.02 patch so you won't lose anything.

So...you're unhappy because someone removed a bug exploitation from the game?

Next thing we'll be hearing people whining because they can't reach the Broken Hills footlockers that keep everybody's stuff anymore.
 
Yes, I'm unhappy. I don't like so much these two fixes and simply asked how to disable them. That's all.
 
Getting back to the fixes at hand..

Another bug has showed up. Slightly different this time, not as severe as usual.. I don't think? I stole Mary's (the scientist at the stables) ID to go see Myron, and the moment I opened the door it went black and I couldn't do anything. But what was odd is this time I could still hear the music. I don't think I could do this earlier, but I may be wrong as it usually died when trying to access a new map. It's been a long, long while since I played FO2 so I have no idea what's supposed to happen here.

Any help?

I didn´t find this bug in any other post so I decided to post this.

When I play FO2 with your patch (I got US version) and die or complete the game the screens where I hear how I was killed or what happened in towns after end game are too fast. I only hear the first words and then they move on the next. Sometimes not even words, just moves so fast.

This happened with your previous patches too, but it hasnt ever happened any time but with your patch.

How do i send the savegame? by PM, email, rapidshare? (I´am little noob on forums)

That issue happened for me as well with unmodded game. It may be fixed by lowering sound card hardware acceleration level in Directx Diagnostics (DXDIAG).

Hi, I just received this game today (US version) and I'm trying to figure out how to install the Killap last homemade patch. I don't know what folder to put it in. When I downloaded it it was just 1 file and no read me text was provided. I'm sorry if this was already posted in here, but I couldn't find the answer in this tread. Thanks for everything.
 
Before you get blasted by a Moderator - download the archive file using a link in Killap's sig, use winzip or winrar to extract the files, then read Killap's instructions in the text files.

You also should read more of this thread than just the latest page.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. When I download it, it doesn't bive me an option to extract it. Just open or save it. I did save it and try to open it with notepad, Then all I see are a bunch of funky characters written. There was no read me text that came with it either. just that 1 file.

And that is with the download from his sig and the one in the patches download. 3D download.

Do you have winrar installed? You need it to extract the files. Grab winrar here: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
