I picked it up the other day and have been playing for a while now. My initial impressions were pretty good, but it definitely has some flaws. The biggest flaw, which virtually makes it unplayable (for me at least) comes near the end, when you declare indepence. Throughout the game the king will add troops to his expeditionary corps, like in the first game, but apparantly at a much greater rate. I was facing an army more than 10 times the size of my own (he sent about 700 units, all better than mine) and had to give up.
I hope they fix this, because apart from that it seems like a pretty good remake. They've changed some of the concepts, but they've still stuck reasonably close to the original, and I was having a great time untill the royal expeditionary force arrived and destroyed my fledgling nation.
Has anyone else been playing this? What did you think?
