Btw, why were the elevator doors in RP 2.0 EPA changed to rusty ones?

Those rusty elevator doors don't quite fit with the rest of the wall & door scenery.

It would be easy to fix the maps, just make extra copies and delete all of the unwanted areas on one, then the others. Rename them and let Killap adjust the scripts…surprisingly dims mapper is the better tool for removing artwork on a large scale. I will wait for Killaps response…
Doh!
It's 5 am and my brain ain't working. I was actually thinking you had to redo half the maps.
And yeah I know of dims mapper and removing artwork all too well from when I fixed the tribes map.

no pixote you didn't revamp it that much, but originally I thought perhaps it was under the bed or something and you had to do something to get it, because I just couldn't find it XD I found it, and got my lovely combat shotgun for my man cassidy. It's a nice change, considering how good the weapons are down there.

An abandoned facility sitting in the middle of the desert for 100+ years, injuring sand storms, rain and sun, I’m surprised it has survived as well as it has. The problem is to do with the artwork of Fallout. There is a very limited selection to choose from, if I had used the swanky clean doors from Vault 13 the place wouldn’t look ravaged by time and weather. But if I had used the old rusty vault walls and scenery from Vault 15, it would be going against the description in the Fallout Bible. So there was a compromise. Now in an ideal situation new artwork would be built to cover those trickier situations, but then you would have people complaining that this new artwork doesn’t look perfect…that’s why I mainly rebuilt old scenery artworks into new animated pieces. It’s the same old stuff we love, just new. It is possible to build anything for this game, if you have the time, talent, and endurance, but at some stage it might not be Fallout any longer, and that is something I wanted to avoid.

I still would change underground elevator doors to clean versions. It makes more sense, because structure is protected from weather in underground and it is in good condition in underground (except utility level).

This is just a friendly suggestion. I can live with the current version (and I can always change it myself).

I don't know if anyone talked about this but when i was at the "primitive tribe" location, inside the fishing area, i get close to the caves for the first time, and the dialogue witht he guard appeared. When that was finished i couldn't move due to "too many weight" and i found out that inside the inventory there was an empty item [x2 ammount] [without any sprite] that was a bit heavy, labeled as "scroll blocker". I threw it away and the game continued correctly. The weird thing is that when i realoaded from that location, i opened the inventory and there it was again that "scroll blocker" item, but this time the sprite was a bookcase, then a red square with a question mark in the center, and then a black safebox, then a pool table, and so on. Always different sprites, always the same label "scroll blocker" and always the ammount of 2.

Can you please load up a saved game, and do you have a screen shot people can see. That’s weird scroll blockers are not meant to be touchable objects in any fashion. They are designed to be invisible objects that prevent the player from colliding with scenery objects. It sounds like the map has some broken data attached to it. Its best let Killap have a look at this one…

I am having trouble getting Fallout 2 to work with this restoration mod. When it launches I get the error wmAreaInit::Error loading cities! I also got this error another time when trying to get the 1.2 version of the restoration mod to work. I do not get this error when launching native Fallout 2. I have tryed deleted all the directories and reinstalling to no avail. I also tryed using the city limit patcher but this results in compatibility errors. Could anyone be of any assistance in helping me resolve this problem?

Could you provide more information about your system (OS, 32/64-bit) and installation (where you installed the game and what installation size).

You could try updating DirectX (Web installer / full installer). And no just having DirectX 9c/10/11 does not mean your libraries are up to date.

Well I managed to fix the problem, however it requires me to run the game as administrator every time. If anyone else is having this problem, hopefully they find this post and it helps them to solve it.

i replay F2RP2.0 with a new character, visited Kalmath, Den, Modoc, VC, Redding, etc...

@Den,
When I was running to Flick, I saw the orphan near Flick's door running to Flick as well. Then i realized it was a successful steal from him. He grabbed my heavy $300+ Fuzzy Elvis Painting... son of $#%@#. It was then i decided to do the orphan's quest first. Firstly, to avoid their grubby hands,.. and secondly to avoid the lag,,, I suspect den-west have too many critters or the the new girl-child-critter may be causing the lag... Anyone else agree/experience the lag too? SUGGEST:reduce number of critters of addicts/prosititutes..

Even after solving the quest, them kids is still waiting for me to travel elsewhere before relocating to the orphanage... SUGGEST:to automatically relocate them when orphanage quest is solved.
Tyler's friend at the party is an abject coward and can be annoying if he managed to run out the room.
SUGGEST:Tyler's friend to MAN-UP..or I have to stand at the door way to block his escape path.

I read in older vanilla fo2 guide, "MOM" can be chatted up to reveal anna's locket and joey the drug dealer can be approached diplomatically for the locket. IS THIS STILL POSSIBLE? Below is extracted from the guide:
There should be a ghost there. Talk to the ghost, and ask her what is the matter. The ghost says that she can't find it. Ask the ghost what is the object, and then she'll mention that it is a locket. With this newfound knowledge, go to Mom's diner. Talk to Mom, eat the meal that she offers you, and then ask her if she knows about the haunted house. She'll mention that a teen used the house about two years ago whose name is Joey. Thank her, and head back (sigh) to the West Side. Joey is the thug wearing a leather jacket. Talk to him, and ask him for some information. Ask him about the ghost, and then ask about the locket. Tell him that he stole it, and buy it from him for $50. With the locket, go back to the building where you found the ghost, and give her the locket. Talk to her again, and she'll turn into a pile of bones. Pick up the bones and head to the graveyard. Find the grave marked "Anna Winslow." Dig up the grave with your shovel, put the bones in there, and then close it up.

Also, joey's guards are abject cowards, they run when fight broke loose. luckily the exit grid is nearby.
SUGGEST: script change for them to MAN-UP?

On another game, I am lvl22, with Karma +1540, Saviour of the Wastes, Champion.. (though I keep getting Dexter?)
@EPA, mr chemmie can produce endless amount of ERSI, if you keep repeating the dialog option (before leaving dialog), eventhough mr chemmie's reply is saying about enough material for ONE ERSI only.
SUGGEST: revise dialog script?

But i think u can only use one ERSI once when using the HIBERNATION COMPUTER. However the option to choose subjects to retrieve is to read his/her history log files before choosing the retrive option. SUGGEST: Retrive dialog option to have: retrieve 1:subject A, 2:subject B 3:subject C.

(I was intending to retrive subject A, but because my last read history was subject B, i got him instead.. sigh) No matter how I try, I keep getting Dexter, the serial killer. 30hp to start?!! Cmon I fought many aliens to get 30hp npc?!! Major letdown,.. Plus, you cannot use the TRADE-CONSOLE on him. You need to steal to give/take stuff from him...
Dexter can give you some "pleasuring women tip'. But, Mrs. Bishop already gave me Gigolo Karma earlier. And others prostitutes gave me Sexpert earlier. Not sure about Dexter's tips effect. Anyone can comment?

I am still trying to get other npc and checking. But I keep getting Dexter. Anyone can help or comment on the pros and cons?

Dexter remind me of Skybot/dogs-npc also cannot use the trade/combat console to carry items. Will there be a fix for this in the future?

I'm having a bug in which every time I go to the Primitive Tribe, the game crashes to the desktop. I've tried going by foot, by car, and with Sulik's sister in tow. I've installed RP on a clean install, to boot. Any thoughts?

You can't "choose" which subject you get, it's determined by your stats. I'm not certain, but I believe you get Dex if you're evil, or if your speech is really high.

As for his hit points, they shouldn't be that low. When I played the beta version of the RP he started out with something like 80 or 90 hp.

Also, I'm sure killap will fix the trading bug in a future update.

yes, i have high speech, but my karma is with Karma +1540, Saviour of the Wastes, Champion.. why did i get a serial killer? haha.. fluke?

sigh.. no enough female npc,, too much brokeback mountain scenario,,
i wish miria and others new girl npc, (red hair please) are better...

I believe that having Miria in your party when blowing up the outhouse makes her disappear.

Although I'm not quite sure what made her disappear because it took me a while to notice her absence, but as far as my memory serves me she was in my party when I was placing dynamite to blow up the outhouse - the next thing I remember is falling down to the slag caves and noticing that Miria is nowhere to be found.

I still have the Married karma title, but no wife. Damn, I was hoping to become a widower... muehehe.

Could someone perhaps test picking up Miria early in Modoc and doing all the quests with her in the party? (Can't do it myself cause I don't have the proper save :P)

I get "unable to save game" error on every save slot. How do I fix this ?

Using Windows XP, game installed in custom folder (on a different hd, never had such problems with F2)

Yes, it is still possible. I guess you need high speech and/or high intelligence.

Have you actually gotten the quest to fix it yet?

That was it. Thanks.
Imo, something should be changed here.
At least, with the proper science/repair skill, the chosen one should be able to figure out that something is wrong, even if unable to repair it.

A few minor bugs:

- When backtracking through the vent in the EPA, the team appears in front of the left most vent instead of the middle one.

- When using metal armor mk2 and wielding a yakuza blade(probably the same with other knifes), the chosen one sprite changes to combat armor.

- In Epa blue level, if i start shooting the eggs upon arrival without hitting any aliens, the aliens don't chase me. At the very least, the mother should be a bit angry.

A last question about the EPA. I wasn't able to find any environemental armor/gas mask in the EPA. Do i need a power armor to get inside the toxic areas?

Are you on a Windows Me or 9x machine? There used to be a crash bug on that map and it's possible killap forgot to use the fixed map.

It goes like this:

Code:
If Melee bigger than Sneak or Speech --- Cat Jules
If Sneak is bigger than Melee or Speech --- Kitsune
If Speech is bigger than Melee or Sneak --- Dex

If any of your biggest stat are the same it's random who you get.

If you have negative Karma or the Cult of Personality perk --- Dex <--- This is not working though, the checks are in the wrong place.

Dex starts with 80 HP and there is no trading bug. joochian's proto file for Dex must somehow have gotten corrupt I'm guessing.

[spoiler:c09bfa17b4]There's a gas mask in o locker in the violet level, just before you enter the Mr Chemmie room.[/spoiler:c09bfa17b4]

Hi, i found the gas mask only, which is inside a wall-mounted locker, near the vault door, i cant remember, either at the of the fruitfly or mr. chemmie.. the wallmounted locker look the same like the one that contain the solar scorcher... assuming you could not find it..

i cant find the Environmental Armour too, but i like PA more, so no biggie to me.

thanks for the info... yes, my speech was very high, over120%, much higher than sneak & melee.. i actually un-install previous F2RP2 and re-install latest installer2.0.2c downloaded April5th.

is there anyone else having the same problems?
anyway, i feel too much work need to be done to get this npc.. is it really worth it? maybe i come here at late level...

Did any of you had any problems repairing the voice computer? I got the quest, but i can' t fix the computer by using repair or science, am i doing something wrong? The computer is the one with the "beep" and "boop" sounds, right? I posted it here, since I am not sure if it is a bug or a change from the previous version...
