About that oversized sporeplant in EPA...

For some reason it was actually scary, but shouldnt it's spikes do more damage than regular spore plant spikes?

(Not sure was it intentional, but having a huge tough sporeplant guarding a stairway and only after killing it you find out that stairs are useless. It was a pretty mean distraction. :lol: )

It's been a while since I played far enough into the game to explore EPA, but if the environmental armor was removed then I guess that takes care my comment about npcs not having armor-change code for it in their scripts.

@Darek
You mentioned something earlier about Miss Kitty being buggy. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at it, but is the problem just Node988 in her script or is it something else? I'd like to fix that for my own game before I start a full-on playthrough of the RP 2 as my characters always enjoy patronizing her fine establishment after a hard day in the wasteland. If you don't want to confuse anyone, if you just tell me what the general problem is with her I'll be able to fix the details on my own. Thanks.

@bubba0216

This is normal behavior if a) you have a follower in your party, and b) the follower is carrying a first aid kit or doctor's bag. Even though you didn't tell them to do so, they're trying to heal themselves (this is in their scripts, it's normal); however the wrong text is displayed in the message box. For instance instead of seeing "Vic failed to do any healing," when Vic is trying to heal himself with a first aid kit, the game says instead "You failed to do any healing." It's annoying but not a problem specific to killap's work; the easiest solution is to look in your followers' inventory and take away all their first aid kits and doctor bags.

On the other hand if you're seeing that while the Chosen One is travelling alone (no party members), it could be a new problem.

whoa bear dude. Lots of glitches in this release.

Though I'm not complaining. I would have released it no matter what.

Please marry me.

Ok, its were I suspected it would be. But then the problem is that I cant move that low and thats why I cant see the grid. The same thing happens in the basement. For some reason I cant move the "camera" to the lower left of the screen.

This is most likely an issue to do with the map numbers for the high resolution patch. What resolution are you running the game? I compiled all of the resolutions from 800x600 to 1280x1024 for the revamped maps, and they ran perfectly, but I’m using an old CRT monitor and wasn’t able to go higher than 1280x1024. Direct you problems here Fallout2 High Resolution Patch Mash is the man to talk with.

I'm currently going through the map edge data and tweaking it for higher resolutions(up to 1920x1200). Also fixing any problems if I find any. I'm about half way though and so far apart from a small problem with a desert map all maps tested have been playable.
I've just had a look at the EPA entrance map and have had no problems with the resolutions I've tested so like Pixote said post the resolution your using and I'll check it out.

Fighting Lenny(the big ugly mutant) in NCR is buggy, after I'd killed him, I couldn't get out of the rink

ok, i think i found a bug.
i bought the car, stashed some stuff in the trunk, but left it at the Den.
i traveled to primitive tribe on foot (stopped at Slaver camp and rescued Sulik's sis), but when i was leaving the car was at the exit grid.

note: i only skimmed through topic so i apologize if this was aforementioned

I play Fallout 2 RP 2.0.2d in Direct3D. When I try to restore the game window after pressing Alt+Tab, game crashes with error. In non-Direct3D mode everything is normal. Is this some kind of bug?

So many bugs/glitches for me to play this game
I was expecting a minimal bugs release after 2 years of waiting
Oh well, I guess I'll keep waiting (may be for another 2 years) :roll:

1. (Sulik's sister has already been rescued.) When I finished helping Krom to negotiate with Roy, kill all of them, and get teleported back to the tribe. The game seems to become pretty unstable, the game crashed with application error during the teleportation (when screen goes black + loading) or while I'm leaving Krom's tent. I'm still trying to figure out if this has anything to do with the stuff on the ground in tribe map. Just like to know if anyone got the same crash like me.
I think I found a way to reproduce the crash. If I pick up the stuff on the ground (three herbs, a spear, a knife, and three gecko skins) before taking the negotiation mission, when I killed Roy and his bodyguards and got teleported back, the game will crash almost every time during the teleportation/map change. IF it was lucky not crash instantly, there will be two "wall" items in my inventory, and I'll be uber-overweighted. (This only happened once.)

I don't know how it causes the crash. But I'd suggest DO NOT pick up anything on the ground before doing the negotiation mission.

Any way I can apply this patch to my mac? ... I appreciate the work you all have been doing I just fear I'll have no way to enjoy it :(

Never been on a mac, don't know how the file system is set up, but you might try the manual installer. Though it is a winrar archive, so not sure if you can open those on a mac.

Won't work even if he can get it extracted (7zip would do the trick) as both Killap's Unofficial Patch and Restoration Project use Timeslip's Sfall that needs latest version of DirectX 9c. Neither mod will work without sfall and even if he could get the game to run without it many things would simply be broken.

Actually, there appears to be a version of the unofficial patch for Mac. Not for Restoration project though, as is stated on the wiki. Here is the link: http://www.killap.net/fallout2/patches/Killap.unofficialFO2patch-Mac.rar

Sounds like the item proto files are corrupt… the items will be cleaned and replaced in a future fix. There could be another answer but I think Killap will want to check this. There have been more than one report about this type of event at the tribe map.

Only problem I have noticed when I was playing some older version of RP was really horrible polish translation. It was really crappy. Is anyone translating the newest version?

Theres a bug with the fight between Lopan and the Dragon in San Francisco:
My teammates will open fire into the ring as soon as round 1 of a fight is over and if they kill my opponent, the match will be won.

I don't know if this is related to the RP directly, but when playing in 1280x800 resolution it works fine for a while and then when I exit out of the game and try to play again this error message comes up.

"You have selected graphics mode 4 or 5, but d3xdx9_42.dll is missing. Switch back to 0, or install an up to date version of DirectX."

My DirectX is up to date as far as I know. I've looked around ddraw but im not exactly sure what I should even be looking for to fix the problem. :P

Any help would be appreciated again. XD
