Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

I think the fact that my party members can't move outside combat at all in the hubologist base (probably because of those torches) and only one can move at a time in the EPA mainetance tunnel, is a much bigger problem than the difficulties in looting corpses, which I've had very few so far. All this whining about the looks of the new maps is just childish; I think they are great, and if someone disagrees, he could say that in some other way than "ZOMFG too many pipes new maps suck"- kind of idiocy.

Yeah, but also keep in mind that if you redesign a map and stuff too many objects at one place in such a low res game like fallout, it can result in the scenery looking cramped and undistinguishable.

Please provide save games that exhibit these party member issues. Thanks.

Sorry in advance for double topics, but this problem might be caused by the RP.

Just started a new game after *quite* some time. Great job on both the unofficial patch and the restoration project Killap.

Clean install, Killap's patch, Killap's RP and Mash's resolution patch.

Found a bug in Klamath, pretty obvious one too. After hearing about the brahmin mutilations you get the quest; "find out who is rustling the brahmin."

However if after that you choose to work for the Dunton brothers and rustle the brahmin for them, the quest isn't greyed out.

Talking to Ardin doesn't seem to bring up an option to sell out the Dunton brothers either.
Even if you did take the limbs and did look at the brahmin at Dunton's place.

P.S. Shouldn't it be crossed out if you choose to rustle the brahmin for the Dunton's? I mean it's pretty obvious who rustled them then isn't it?

Great release!

I would like to know what is left on the to-do list besides the usual bug fixes.
Anything big still left?

Is there any way to get the old character screen back? I didn't choose a different look, and the rotating character is giving me motion sickness.

I will address the issues to do with ‘critter freeze’ in the maps, (basically remove some of the animated scenery). I was hoping some bright spark would have assisted in overcoming the limit of 20 animated things on a map (including critters) seems like it’s buried too deep within the game engine and cant be touched. It shouldn't be as big a problem in RP 2.1.

DOH!

I really love the Steam and its transparency :) I love all of the effects. It really gives it an emmersive feel.

On another note:

Is Silent Death broke? Does it produce 2x damage on the backstab? Does it apply to weapon and unarmed? I mean, I know it should, as backstabs arent normally done with fingers.

Rumors I hear. I havent tested it yet as I am playing it slow and dont have enough yet to get the Perk.

You shouldn't install the unofficial patch if you also install the restoration project. RP already includes the unofficial patch. This could be the cause of your problems.

Hi guys, could someone point me to what sort of editor I can use to edit my character? The ones on the download sections do not seem to work...

Searching revealed no answer to this question so here it is: where are the raiders? There is no green circle seven squares south and one west of Vault City where it normally is. I am using RP 2.0.2e.

Regardless, I love this mod together with the unofficial patch and the resolution patch. :)

I have a bigger list of more minor bugs I'll post eventually, but here are a few major problems for now:

--Lao Chu's script contains two self-looping dialogue nodes (032 and 033), resulting in stuck/endless conversations.

--I didn't have the problem many others have reported with party members "joining in" the fights in San Francisco. I have an obscure theory about the source of this problem, but to avoid confusion I was wondering if everyone always has this problem or if just some players are experiencing it/it only happens sometimes.

--I have an idea to resolve an old vanilla FO2 bug. I always (no matter the FO2 version or mod I'm playing) have trouble with game crashes while trying to assassinate John Bishop by trapping his safe as the map change/explosives issue is a long-standing problem. However in my playthough of the RP 2 I was having a particularly hard time with this, and as I crashed/reloaded the game 12 times in a row before giving up and taking out Bishop and his men in a more direct way (through combat), it occurred to me that these Bishop/safe problems could be resolved once and for all by actively scripting Bishop's death rather than relying on the way things currently work (the explosion is scripted, and Bishop may or may not take damage possibly or not resulting in his death). No actual explosion need be used (since this is what can cause the crash); all that's really needed is an explosion sound effect and Bishop's death. If no one else fixes this before I get around to it I'll write some code and make a post about it eventually.

You can no longer find the raider base simply by stumbling across it on the world map, you have to find its exact location by some other means.

I have been trying hard to do so but without any luck so far. How about a spoiler?

Thanks, I'll try a clean install the official 1.02d and the newest RP.

Guys? I need an answer, I seriously have the urge to play the game.

Found these lines in the ddraw.ini file:
;Set to 1 if using the hero appearance mod
;NOTE: This must be enabled for the Fallout 2 Restoration Project to function properly
EnableHeroAppearanceMod=1

If I set it to 0 the original character screen returns, which is exactly what I want. But I'm afraid I'll break the Fallout 2 Restoration Project patch while doing it.

Is there any other way?

Don't install the official patch. Just do a humongous install of the game and then install the RP.

There is no other way at the moment. In the next release, players will be able to control the rotation speed. Disabling that in the .ini won't break the game, but it will cause a problem with one part of the EPA. You'll know once you get there, so just walk away once you encounter it. Even if you do interact with it, the worst that will happen is a crash. So, no harm in disabling it.
