Fallout 2 mod Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.3 (Unofficial Expansion)

I'm playing and I noticed a few things :

  • In modoc, when i finished the quest with the Slags, Jo tells me that i could buy thing at cost price. So i try to trade to see it, and indeed, the price of things are actually lower. But if i quit the dialog, come back, and trade again, the price is anew high. Also, he tells me that i could have some advantage with other peole in Modoc, but i don't know where.
  • For the quest "Defend Grisham Brahmins", it seems it's bugged. For example, when i am teleport, and go back to modoc and talk to Grisham, it tells me all brahmins are dead and ask to cover his losses , giving him 1500$. I answer : "Those brahmin weren't worth more than a $1000." and then he says "Great! Head out to the pastures at night and kill the pack of wild dogs that are attacking my brahmin. Come back here when you finish the job.". And i am teloported to the paturage, with no brahmin left. There are only dogs, so i killed them. It's written i killed of of them, but when i go back to Grishman, i always have the dialog that he lost his brahmin, bis repetita.
  • For this same quest, a friend has an other bug, that i can't reproduce. He lost two brahmins during the fight with dogs, and after the fight, he was teleported outside (i personnaly had toi move to the exit grid). When he goes to talk to Grisham, he has the dialog that he has to cover his losses , giving him 500$ (he has a better speech/charisma) than me. He answers "I've left my money in my room; let me go get it for you." because he did'nt have the money. Then he goes to sell some things to have the account, but he never can pay Grisham for his losses (he doesnt have the same dialog that i, to pay him).

I had an other question :

  • What are all conditions to get Lenny in his team? I can't have the dialog line in my game to recruit him

Nobody had the same problem? (sorry to up)

The RP walkthrough linked to in the first post has been down for a few days now. Does anyone have a mirror of it?

You need to talk to him about your ancestor. Check Per's guide for more details.

Yes, i know that, and i already recruited him in an precedent game. But with an other one, i don't have the dialog line (i tried everything). That's why i ask if there were conditions to get lenny.

I'm running restoration project 2.3.2 and I can't seem to get to San Francisco. Each time I get close to it on the map I stop and the green arrow shows up. Any idea on how to solve this?

In New Reno when I want to play boxing, the screen become black.I can't see anything.Just hear sound effect. In the left-up corner of the screen I can see some red light effect.Did anyone have the same situation like me?

Config :
Intel G630 2.7GHz 2.7GHz
4GB Ram
Win 7 64bit
AMD Radeon HD 7350

I know a link to the Restoration Project guide Matroska might be looking for. It's not really up-to-date, however, as it's from 1.2

Also, I really don't like the F2-style female Hero Appearances from Olympus2207. Why did they get used instead of the F1-styled one?

Sometimes while doing arena fights in the RP my game goes black screen, but mine usually results in an eventual crash. I haven't found a solution for it, nor does it occur every time. I've just decided to end every fight as quickly as possible. (To the head aimed crits)

When I purchase Marcus's armor from trader Bill Marcus disappears. He is not able to attack in combat. When he is attacked in combat his sprite becomes that of a dog then disappears again. I was wondering if there was a way to remedy this problem. I experienced a similar issue with Cat Jules. When he used his default leather armor his sprite turns into that of a child and was not able to equip any weapons. Only was his armor changed or removed did he take the form of an adult and was able to equip weapons. Once Marcus disappears I am unable to talk to him as the game doesn't recognize him being for the purpose of interactions with the player.

Sounds like the the sprites haven't been tagged to the correct models somehow, why not backup your save and re-install Fallout 2 and then the RP

I will try that. How do I backup saves and install it? I originally installed it to Windows ME, copied the folder to a USB stick, pasted it into the C drive of my "modern" (64 bit) computer, installed the RP in the same folder and changed the .ini? (I can't remember if it was an ini or a dat file) and redirected the data sourcing to my fallout folder.

Thanks for reply. The first time I went to boxing the game crashed. After that every time I go to boxing it becomes black screen. Now I restart my game hoping it won't happen.

I'm currently on Ghost Farm playing dumb character, received message for Modoc from Vegeir, but I can't seem to find my way out. The guard at the backdoor doesn't want to step aside, probably because of my dumb character, and I can't see any other way out. Am I missing something?

And are you 100% sure you've agreed to carry the message? (Cheat and pop some mentats if you need to)

I seem to recall that you need Mentats in order to find Vault 13 as a dumb character. Specifically, because you can't access the computer in Vault 15.
Does the RP do anything about this? I suppose it's realistic, but it feels like cheating.
Is there another way to discover Vault 13 perhaps? The UP changelog does mention dumb dialog fixes in Vault 13, so I'm guessing dumb characters are supposed to be able to find it?

Per's guide has an answer that may help:

To get to Westin's ranch to the west [in NCR] you can either talk to Dumont about work and get a recommendation, or have quest 5 from Vault City to deliver a holodisk. In the nearest building inside you find Saltbeef, the old drunk. Giving him a Beer or similar (except for Rot Gut) you can get him to tell you about how he found Vault 13 and how he scribbled a map on the back of a painting, which is now in the possession of doctor Jubilee. Jubilee will sell the painting for a whooping $10,000 (which you can steal back). Once you have the painting, examine it and Vault 13 shows up on your world map. This is not really necessary even for diplomatic characters.

Westin's guard: "Stop! What is your business with Mr. Westin?"
Chosen One: "Me Cho-zun. Me strong. Uh, and smart! Don't need smart-pillz tuh reed dumm kom-poo-terz tuh find dumm Valt-tur-teen. Cho-zun too smart for dat, Cho-zun just reed MAP!
Westin's guard: "Oh, you must be a congressman! Go right in, sir!"

No, although that's also available in NCR, on an expensive holodisc from Merk... plus a base fee for requesting "information." You can get back your money, though, since it ends up in his inventory, through steal or maybe barter.
