Fallout 3 pirated, videos spread

Jeebs, trust me, I'd return the thing once you got it, unopened.

From what I've seen, it's too cliche, and too many ripoffs to be worth the dough.

Fortunately, I'm not having to shell out for mine, but a friend is giving me a copy for a server buildout I did for him.

Meh, as I said - I'll try to make the most of it.

Mebbe the modding community can make it worthwile. I'll sure be keeping an eye out...

My faith in the modding scene is good, but it will be months before anything good enough to make the game worth while to me comes out.

BTW - Can modders fix the disgusting skateboarding effects?

I sort of feel bad about getting it on 360, looks like the mod scene, if there ever IS one is really going to make the game something else.

the scateboarding is a leftover from when you had variable move speed in Oblivion. Several people tried to fix it with varying success, the problem with Oblivion was two fold,

1) Movement speed was partly size&race based and movement speed was also stat based.

2) they bascialy had a walk, run, sneak walk and sneek run animation and tried to force it to be one size fits all

Egad. that's not promising. Thanks for the info.
well this time around it looks like theirs only 1(?) movement speed and 1 size main character modle, so you can at least cure it for all the characters"actors" that are the same size. I was pointing out that Oblivion you had 10 races 2 sexes (yes your sex dictated stats and base hight wich in turn dictated your speed) plus all the NPC races plus the "monster races" and then even more modified by a whole laundry list of other things

for more info on that topic

The above synopsis pretty much covers most of the major points in this phenomenal load of steaming shit Bethesda plopped out, but now only do they bastardize every other fallout game they bastardize their own game.

[spoiler:2e91e300f5]Coming from a game where the have Boromir spontaneously transform into a Giant Dragon tehy decide they really need to use that same megasize feature again and top it the only way they can think of in a post apocalyptic would - of course, a Giant Robot.

THEN.

Since it was so cool to have a main character sacrifice himself in Oblivion they figure they have to have that in Fallout along with thier Giant non-dragon Robot and in a game fundamentally built upon man's desire and ability to SURVIVE under any circumstances and against all odds they think it's logical you suicide yourself for the good of all. No idea how they actually justify jump starting a piece of non-magic technology with a human life, the idea is just crap, but I'm sure they thought it was cool rather than gay in Oblivion too. Or they just didn't care.[/spoiler:2e91e300f5]
[spoiler:2e91e300f5]I thought you die because the Enclave gets pissed off that you didn't put the virus in and lasers the hell out of you. But I didn't see the video so I am assuming. DON'T REMIND ME OF THAT FREAKING SAYING ABOUT ASSUMING.[/spoiler:2e91e300f5]

The only conceivable redeemable features to be found on this game would have to be found after the modders have fixed the sure to be numerous and glaring issues that were simularly found in Oblivion.

I therefore could not possibly imagine buying it on the X-box.

And I very much doubt it worth buying on two platforms even if each platform came with one of the wonder twin rings or the most wonderous pair of vault shoes one in each box to make a pair every collector woudl declare a must have.

I find it entirely possible my odd desire for a lunchbox will result in my bludgeoning myself or random passerby's to death with it to deal with the sound of all my brain cells dying at once trying to supress the gag reflex of their crappy plotline.

I remember playing Oblivion for the first time I wondered if the real capital was behind that silly monument with the park built around itand the crap view distance just wasn't showing it on my video card.

Wait, that's the Imperial capital the whole game revolves around?

No frigging way.

[spoiler:13d2e769c1]Is it just me or could this game have done without 'Diamond Weapon' emerging from the north crater to blast the shit out of Midgar DC?

Something just hit me. Anyone know what the "Corpses eaten" count is for/from? Haven't heard anything about it or seen anything along the lines in movies or streams.

If the modders fix it.If Bethesda releases a modkit, or if someone makes the oblivion modtools somewhat compatible with F3.

Of which we still have no clue. I would like to think everything that has to do with F3 hasn't gone down the shitter yet, but my gut feeling says 'don't expect a modkit release'.

Don't worry too much, though. There's one big bright light at the end of the tunnel for all cRPG fans. More on this in a few months. Sit tight.

Fo 1 > Fo 2 > Fo:Tactics > Fo:BoS > Fallout 3
I've thought about getting Fo:PoS in the past simply for the multiplayer because I enjoyed playing the Champions games (take place in the EverQuest world and use the BG:DA engine I believe). That said, I never bothered because it looked worse than Champions games and those were only decent games which I played because there aren't many 3+ player games for PS2 outside of sports and racing games and certainly less with Co-Op. Anyway, I'm not sure whether or not Fallout 3 will be a better game but Fo:PoS has (had?) more appeal for me simply because of the multiplayer.

At the very least, Fallout 3 will be well received with a larger number of fans than Fo:PoS was but who knows what it could have done with Bethesda PR.

I played Oblivion only few times, first to check the game and other times to check different mods like Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul in futile search for a mod that would make Oblivion actually playable. Today there are lots of mods that add better animations, items or fixes bugs and lame developer choices. But there is no mods that fix awful quests and main story and to me that is most important part of the game. Same thing will happen with F3, youll get bunch of mods that will fix most of the stuff but not the story itself and like Oblivion ill play trough it once, try few mods and forget it ever existed. I think that if they release toolset this will be the first game for which ill really try to make a decent story mode.
