Fallout 4 has now gone gold

So, how long until we see a new combo flavor of Mountain Dew and Doritos themed on Fallout? I mean the former is already green chemical goo so they could easily capitalize on that. Get on with it Bethesda.

Saw a post on reddit, there was massive Fallout advertising somewhere in Australia and they even had Fallout advertisement on buses and shit... Like, who the fuck would give a shit about this stuff on the streets? Who are they advertising this towards?

I think they know what they are doing.

Say what you want about Bethesda but their marketing has always been great.

Skyrim sold over 20 million copies. Their games are now part of pop culture. Not as known as GTA or Fifa but almost on the same level. So it makes sence for them to market it to a broad audience.

I see a few Fallout shirts when I shop for groceries and stuff. Lots of geek shirts actually. When did that cultural change happen?

Being "geeky" have been hip and cool for a while now.

Depends, there's geeky and there's geeky. To be truly geeky is still unpopular, mostly because a "true" geek remains antisocial, basement-dwelling, role-play-gaming, woman-fearing and so on.

But sure, there is the trendy-geek, like that dude in NCIS

What a hunk of a geek :o

I just don't understand how people can see Fallout 4 as an overall major improvement over New Vegas, Especially in the combat section, it literally looks the same. AIs still derp when it comes to cover, sidewalking in a goofy manner while holding their weapon up and aiming, crouching, and never once crouchwalking to another spot to ambush the player, but rather pop up like target practice. None of them in NV have use nades when hidden but rather will use it while running up the player headlong, and possibly even kill themselves in the blast, so I expect Fallout 4 to do the exact same thing, and the worst offender is the melee enemies: Not once have they shown any feeling of perseverance, such as bobbing, weaving, leaping across areas, being erratic to the player to avoid gunfire. They just take the shortest path to the player and rush headfirst to become easy XP, I think the only one who shown otherwise is the Deathclaws, but they're too large to use Bobbing and weaving, so it's basically worthless.

The Deathclaw in the demo seems to have a "Dodging to the side" leaping animation, but the thing kept receiving damage, so it seemed to be mostly cosmetic because they didn't get the hitbox to work with the animation.

Yeah, most of the in-game fights would be much more quirky than what we've seen, because those are the best and most khewl moments bethboys were capable to capture and put into trailer. That's how trailers works, isn't it?

Do people even buy disk copies of PC games anymore?
I do, mostly older games re-selled on auctions though. Modern shit require STEAM activation often, or another stupid online interaction with 3rd party clients, which sucks balls. What's the point of buying physical copy, when you cannot use it without the internet connection?

Damn you are bitter. If i want to play the most amazing FPS, i will play Halo.

Nobody plays Fallout because it's fhe greatest shooter out there of because it has the best graphics.

That being said Fallout 4 looks as a major improvement when it comes to the shooter action. When you say that it looks the same I just can't take you serious. It's just as with people who say that the Graphikzzz in 4 look the same as in 3.

Go and watch how 3 and NV combat looks again. If you say that fhe combat in 4 isn't a major improvement I suggest you go get some glasses.

>Bethesda transforms Fallout into an FPS.
>It's not a good FPS.
>10/10, Game Of The Year.
So what is the selling point of a Bethesda game then?

Are you seriously implying I was the one who's disappointed in the lack of improvement in the combat section? If so, please learn to read. it's the people stating how combat is 'majorly improved' When honestly, they're just talking about graphics, not the actual shooting mechanics and enemy AI.

I personally don't give a fuck on the combat in Fallout, in fact, I actually enjoy it, as it does allow me some super-hilarious kills. Fallout 4 on the other hand doesn't show any dynamic shit going on when it comes to the combat scenario, the enemy AI, no matter how clean and 'oh gwaphix' it is, the gameplay trailers showing them doing the exact same thing they did in Fallout 3 and NV: stand around in the open and unleashing dakka upon the player, with some side-walking like the goofy enemies they are and then crouching behind some obstacles, only to pop their head up later and get killed by the player, as if they're target practice. Like Walpknut and I stated, the only creature here that has improved was the Deathclaw, and to be honest, he's way too bulky to try bobbing and weaving past bullets.

For me personally

- world exploration
- immersion
- RPG mechanics
- sidequests

It's certainly not the FPS part. I assume that the FPS part of Fallout isn't the selling point to the millions of other gamers while they would choose a Halo or Battlefield instead.
