Fallout: New Vegas - Metro 2033 screenshot comparison

Guess which looks best

Metro is the obvious winner, even against the Bethesda "specially edited" official screens.

Nothing new there, Gamebrye is not...or should I say never was a good engine, despite that the environment looked good.

I think screenshots dont really give Metro that much credit. It looks and feels better in motion. Compared to Fallout 3 anyway since Metro has definetly the better animations even though lip syncronisation could have been better. But well. Nothing is perfect.

That Fallout 3 in my eyes has no chance against metro is obvoius cause Metro was designed as "shooter" with a lot of focus on that and thus it feels good as such. Fallout 3 ... is a mix and some kind of frankenshooter. It does in my eyes neither the RPG nor the Shooter part really well.

Funny thing is that Metro looks way better than it does in these screenshots ( on a very powerful rig of course ).

It's too late for New Vegas now, but I hope that Fallout 4 will feature Id Tech 5. If it sucks let the game look good at least...

Hey Guyz!

I made this awesome "Fallout New Vegas versus Metro 2033 versus The Fall: Last Days of Gaia" comparison

I must say that I don't really give too much of a shit. There are some aspects where I wished it looked better (animations) but really... it's not nearly ugly enough for me to go graphics whore on it. It looked pretty good to me overall.

Hell, if I could play Knights of the Chalice (released last year, excellent D&D combat for anyone interested) then the F3 engine is no problem.

I'd be happy though if they could fix some of the crashing issues I've had with both Oblivion and F3 (across three different computers).

Those metro shots aren't on the highest settings.

Edit: At least they don't look it. Having played for a few hours on high this evening, mine looks far superior and its not even on Extra high. The shrinking might not be doing them justice, but they look like console screen-shots to me.

comparing the fallout 3 version of gamebryo to any other engine is sort of a joke. i'm playing metro 2033 now and it's a really nice looking game. though if you want to nitpick and compare graphics and how nice things look, the 'stalker complete 2009' mod looks better than metro 2033, stalker CoP or fallout 3/new vegas.

Dont really see the point in comparing screens of these two games (and that is probably what iii wanted to express by posting The Fall Screens). It's simply a complete different genre, complete different surroundings and possibilities. In addition the screenshots do not even look similar.
Metro 2033 has a bad performance on highest settings and as fat as I heared got bad critique about the bad technical side of the game. On my system it ran perfectly fine on medium settings. But you only have small corridors and in best case very limited outer areals. Nothing compared to what you have in Fallout3.

Though iiis posting is a little..."strange" I can agree that the "news" is not more than just some completely randomly taken screenshots put together.

Fallout 3 can look good, but only in rare circumstances and with a bit of .. imagination.

The Fall is a good game. Linear, but good. It's also easily moddable!

Yea unfortunately the manual is lacking a lot of info and the official forums are closed down, so its hard to find the info that you need to comprehend certain parts/options/gamemechanics of this game.
