Solid gold? Would be fun to see someone wear it and spend a few hours trying to lift it up off the floor.

-It's possible to obtain a "blinged out Pip-Boy model" called the Pip-Boy 3 Billion
-The interviewer mentions to Larry that some players felt overwhelmed by Fallout 3 and want the game to be more accessible

They tried to make it so Three Dog would do PSAs to help out Wastelanders, but really all he said was Brotherhood of Steel propaganda, stay away from D.C., make sure to use a Geiger counter, and stay away from Evergreen Mills. Nothing really important.Lexx said:The biggest problem with the radios in Fallout 3 was for me, that it all made no sense. I mean... if there is a radiostation that can send over such a big area, wouldn't communities start to use it to somehow work together? How it worked in Fallout 3 was like "hey, we have super cool technology here to broadcast messages over many miles! Let's use it to play music and talking bullshit!"

Somehow I don't remind myself anything more or less facepalm worthy in FO1, like this silly Pip-Boy idea in NV.Tagaziel said:Nitpicky NMA strikes again! What's your problem with a minor, cool little detail? There were thinks like this in the original Fallout too.
This was only in FO2 which well is made basically by the same devs, so probably there will be more *jokes* like that.Reconite said:Look at the LE BB Gun, capable of splitting armoured Super Mutants in half with one pellet.
No, see: the problem is that this is apparently big enough news to have slipped through to the reporters. The special encounters in the old games were just side stuff, obviously intended as a joke (although I still don't like them), but this is already something newsworthy: "Hey, there's gonna be a PipBoy in there, all bling-bling and all." What? Fuck you. Get over the "we need to focus on all the pesky little details that made the old games funny" 'cause "funny" ain't gonna work here.Reconite said:Jeez guys, it's just a "blinged out" Pip-boy. That's a nice little postmodern reference to "A Christmas Story". "You'll shoot your eye out, kid."[Look at the LE BB Gun, capable of splitting armoured Super Mutants in half with one pellet.
