Here's a mirror of official Sonora 1.14+ (2024.11.21)
I added this link to the Fallout Sonora website, as people are linking to the dead links on Nevada Band's website from there.

Whelp, I better get busy updating things...

I have disabled the link to Nevada Bands 1.15 release until my translation is synched with it.

Edit: This update will take some time.

We believe in you
What does it include? I imagine it must be big

Also, regarding the amiga changes, were these the only files with new dialogue lines in that last translation? I'm updating them right now on my end; just 90 more dialogue files and I'll be "finished", it's the only thing I'm missing
How are you doing, by the way?

Going over as I write, but so far lot's of small changes. They added masculine/feminine lines for multiple russian lines, which don't have an impact in English. But the lines must be added to avoid errors. They did not add my 'amigo/amiga' corrections however.

There were also multiple files where Count Bustos is changed to 'Don Bustos' - so lots of very small changes, but more than 100 dialogues affected at multiple locations each.

Many affected dialogues were already included in the 1.14+ update

Here is a complete list of the 1.15 features:

- *Special Event "Gold": Improved setting for more consistent movement logistics + reduced map size.
- Two-Sun: The Tinsmiths' doctor has been renamed to "biomechanic."
- Puerto: Added new dialogue for General Dixon when interacting with a mutant PC.
- Puerto: A mutant PC can no longer join the Brotherhood (but will not be expelled if they joined before mutating).
- The "Hot Blood" trait now translates battle cries for Spanish-speaking NPCs.
- Added a custom targeting reticle for NPCs in power armor.
- Rangers: Improved dialogue with the cartographer.
- Rangers: Experience for earning a title is now only awarded the first time.
- *Rangers, Radio Station: Minor map changes + adjusted map boundaries on the left and right.
- *Rangers, Aqueduct: Minor map changes + adjusted the right-side map boundary.
- El Faro Pier: Ruiz will now initiate dialogue after the treasure quest if he wasn’t cheated out of his share.
- El Faro Pier: Fixed a bug where hacking the turrets via Science did not properly add them to the PC’s team (as they kept reverting to their original status).
- El Faro Pier: The Creature from the Black Lagoon can now be reasoned with using Mentats.
- Partially improved the forced companion dismissal code (for ring fights, being enslaved in Two-Sun, and being sent to Daylight).
- Casa Grande: Count Bustos has been renamed to Don Bustos.
- Villa: Added power armor reactions for several characters + Eden is now forbidden from consuming alcohol.
- General text refinements throughout the game for female PCs. Thanks to Roman Kozlov for identifying these inconsistencies.
- Slot Machines in the Casino: Additional adjustment for the Gambling skill + increased chip reserves in the machine + now interactable by hand without needing to insert chips directly (default bet is 1).
- Dayglow: Increased the delay before the messenger initiating the DLC appears from 0.5 to 2 seconds.
- Dayglow: Fixed a gender-related inconsistency in the description of a ghoul raider in Tijuana.
- Dayglow: Corrected a script error that caused Falik to use the wrong dialogue line.
- Dayglow: Added a message to the slot machine indicating that there are no additional rewards after winning (line 280).

Actually, there were also changes from the 1.14+ update. It is getting complicated with this new 1.15 update, so I think you should be using github (if you aren't already) to allow easy comparison of changes from version to version. That is what I am doing now, and it allows me to isolate and focus on exactly what has changed.

How are you doing, by the way?
Good, been keeping busy making a custom wide-format (800x500) version of Fallout 2 CE Sonora for macOS. How goes the Spanish translation?

I haven't, I've just kept the files in a folder and didn't know GitHub could do that; I'll get on with it, would make the process a lot easier for updating the files

Looks nice, for me playing the classic Fallout games in a small resolution feels more comfortable. The screenshots look good, just gotta fix the font a little bit but I'm sure you noticed that already
Regarding the translation, I'm almost there, translated all the game files, endings and stuff, also made sure the Quotes file used the spanish name of the films if they were available
I'm only missing about 90 dialogue files and everything will be ready, then I have to test it, though I should make sure to update all files using GitHub as you said, as most of the files I've translated are already pretty old

One thing I just noticed, in the amiga changes there are instances of "querido amiga", querido is the masculine version of "dear" in spanish, so it should be "querida"

Wait... what do you mean? That is just the game's rendered font...

Let me know if you help to set that up. Basically you need to make a commit with the 'old version', then after that add/overwrite the new files, and GitHub Desktop, or whatever way you view the changes will highlight each and every change exclusively.

I will change the querido/querida now.

If you look at the first screenshot, the letters in Load Game overlap a little bit with the bolts, that's what I meant, though it's not important really

Thank you, I'm setting it up now
I'm really excited to have everything translated, though I know it won't be the end
At the same time I'm also a bit nervous to publish it once it's done, I'll check it to make sure there aren't errors; I remember when I played the english version of Nevada there was a character that wasn't translated, and another one that crashed the game upon starting dialogue (Possibly a missing {}) and I don't want that to happen here

Ah, of course, good catch. Those are actually old screenshots. I finished the whole conversion already, here is the current main screen:

I would suggest publishing it as a pre-release, warn that there may be issues, and let early dabblers help with spotting issues. Worked for me here. These forums were crucial in getting the job done.

Looks like they have incorporated amigo/amiga changes as I already had, so not as many changes as I first thought. Still need to go over them all though, as there are russian related masculine/feminine changes mixed in too.

I have updated the translation to work with the 1.15 release of the Fallout: Sonora v1.15 and the Dayglow DLC v1.15

Links in the first post are valid. You can also find the translation at Fallout Sonora and at the moddb.com

The translation update for the most part addresses the 1.15 update from Nevada Band. A tiny handful of translation related fixes. Many files were changed however.

Very impressive work, Cambragol. It is so good to see this continued support by you, which makes the difference to all the other translation efforts. Thank you.

interface graphics.
Did you include the correct English graphics from the translation? I made custom versions that match the Nevada Band's 1:1 (minus Russian) - For example, the iFace bar is a combination of Fallout 1 and 2, and is unique to Fallout: Sonora.

Hi there, I'm trying to get Sonora working on my Android tablet via the app fo2.exe. I followed the instructions on this page for an installation of Install Instructions for Sonora + Dayglow DLC + Script Patch 1.04. I chose the fallout2-ce-windows-x86.exe version of the Fallout2-CE Continuous Build. I unzipped all the folders on my PC and transferred them to my tablet. On both devices, the intro plays and I can get to the menu screen, but it's still in Russian. I can speak a bit of Russian, but not enough to fully understand an unfamiliar story. I changed the language in fallout2.cfg in the Sonora folder to 'english'. However, now when I run the game, it does not work.

As a side note, the Android app fo2.exe tells me the HiRes mod 'FSonoraHR.exe' file is missing. I don't know if that's relevant, though.

Looking forward to getting this bad boy running in English!

I remade iface and hr_iface_800 in English in my own way, just being nitpicking on a couple of minor details. And I made invbox, loot, and use based on Sonora's custom versions instead of using vanilla graphics. As for tx_pntb, I took the extended MVENUM.frm from sfall to allow displaying AP cost up to 19 (it's possible to have AP cost of 10 for an attack mode in the game, which would display nothing in vanilla).

Hm. Not working when set to English means the english translation is not being loaded or is being overwritten. Try erasing the DLC .dat - You don't need it as it is already included in the translation.
