here is the error code, any info on whats causing this would be lovely

I keep reciving a crash during the "group of jackals"

Looks like it may be related to the below one, which Violator thinks is an Sfall issue.

1. There's an sFall bug that's causing the game to freeze and then crash if you happen to encounter some Jackals:

Just a side note: I haven't had a single crash while using Fallout 2 CE for Sonora. Can't remember one.

ah cheers for the info, also haha its all good i expected a few crashes on my end, its my first time modding fallout 2 in general so i assumed id end up messing up in a few places

also gotta say thanks for doing us a great service with the translation, been waiting years to finally play sonora

Thought I would post this here, as potentially a bug that effects Sonora, and maybe related to Sfall: while watching @QuantumApprentice 's play-through, he noted that the lighting script was not working:

However, when I tested this with Fallout 2 CE running Sonora, this issue did not appear. Lighting effects were working correctly. Sonora was coded to work with Fallout 2 straight up, so hence my suspicion of sFall.

Does anyone happen to have a full list of all the bike upgrades and where to get them from, ive only been able to find the deathclaw skull currently and I know theres more hidden across the map

Does anyone know a full list of permanent companions in the game, I only know about the raider in flagstaff and the prisoner from Mexico and I assume there's more hidden from doing certain prerequisites?

it depends on how you want to cheese through the game..

Arthur Carrington
You can escort arthur carington from vault 27 to phoneix wait a few days and talk to him.. he becomes a permanent companion ( if you don't let him go in casa nueva he's yours)

Paladin Barkley
in inferno sewers.. requires a 90% speech check in order for him to run with extra companions and he'll probably only work with you if you're with BoS, but otherwise he's permanent

Diana
Follower of Apocalypse in inferno after you finish the quest for the mutant leader there (and it's woth at least for the Power Armor), you can escort DIana to Casa Nueva, but you don't nessecarily have t release her there so in this regard she's peranent companion.

Senior Asistante
a Mr.Handy robot at you ancestor's toomb, that grany adonisa directs you after you finish the main quest and have the continue after MQ perk.

Eugene...
If you want to be really cheesy you can aquire the get an engineer for the dam quest before destroying the dam, destroy the dam, do the DLC and return, ad after that you can go grab eugene for that now unfinishable quest, so that he stays with you until he dies.. there's no way of disbnding him, and he's not scripted as a proper companion.. He's probably best with grenades, as he has no weapon animations, so it's only unarmed and no animation thrown weapons for him ( so no knives and no spears for throwing), he can wear armor for adults, but he looses all benefits of it after switching maps.

and that's about it

ah cheers for the info, also are you able to take companions into dayglow or am I gonna have to recruit gomer?
trip to the dlc is one man only and 20lbs equipment only so absolutely no companions. Besides i don't know who gomer is, the only gun wielding companion in dlc according to game files is private heap

Private 'Куча' in the original Russian, is most likely alluding to the character 'private Gomer Pyle' in the old Andy Griffith Show. 'Pyle' is connected to 'Pile', a common translation of Куча. The character is also referred to as 'Gomer' exclusively in the scripts. Even his dialogue file is YSGomer. Nevada Band really has a penchant for including old Americana wherever possible.

According to fallout bible dayglow is an undeveloped location for some interplay fallout game. That follower was sepose to be called private Heap, he indeed may be called Gomer Pyle as his true name, however his nickname by his fellow mutants from the squad is Heap..
The bad luck of russian translation is that "heap" and "pile" of something has only one word for describing it and that is "куча". Which describes a small hill/mountain of something like a heap/pile of trash/solid type waste. I think in original translation's team dialogue this was described more throughly, as heap describes he's called Gomer Pyle as in piles of shit that heap leaves behind after his meals and that he is just a heap of walking canon fodder, to his sqad mates, as even among super mutants heap is considrred an moron
Also in slavic languages
There's no difderence between hill and a mountain in wording, same as between pile of something and a mountain.. this is not limited to russian either this is basically slavonic ethnic thing.
I don't want to go directly into the translation of куча as this is considered a taboo word for some but it is something between english stack of "poo" or "shit", that literally means a heap of something

I thought the mutant was called that as a reference to the Full Metal Jacket character that received given the nickname "Gomer Pyle" out of mockery, but saying that the nickname in FMJ is taken from the Griffith show too

This is likely the case of 'reverse' non-literal translation, or translation of terms for the intended audience. Gomer has a meaning, in American English, as a reference to a stupid, simpled-minded, inept, but perhaps well-meaning person. That's private Gomer in Sonora to a T. That's why his squad mates would call him 'Gomer' (Pyle isn't/wasn't in slang/colloquial American English with the same reference). A literal translation of Gomer into Russian wouldn't come off well, but, "Pyle" (phonetically close to "pile") ties so naturally to the Russian word "Куча" (which literally means "pile"), so Куча was used for the Russian audience. As mentioned, there are cultural meanings to Куча that make it better for a Russian audience than a transliteration of 'Gomer'.

Here, I think, the English is the source, and the Russian is the translation.

I think there is, or was, an additional use of Gomer in military jargon, above and beyond the use of Gomer in general parlance to refer to an dim-witted oafish person.
