How did you discover Fallout ?

Wow, entire books about how a person discovered Fallout.

My story is simple:
I was at a friend's place and he was playing Fallout. i thought it was a cool game so i started playing it too.

that's all. :D

Well, my story is very simple... my friend told me about Fallout. He said that I won't like it. Few months later I saw this game in shop, so I bought it. My friend was wrong :P. Fallout became my favourite game :D.

One of my friends had Fallout 2 and I and he played it sometimes and I liked Fallout 2 and i bought it. Later I broke it accidently and then I got new one as a present. O.o

I am visiting this website for about 2 years and playing fallout tactics also about 2-3 years and only now i registered in this forum  First i got cd with fallout tactics demo. Played it several times till decided to get Fallout Tactics full game :) Then i played and enjoyed it, also now i have fallout and fallout 2 on my PC :) Good games and i like Fallout universe and all story :)

So...
First things first, this is my first ever post in this forum I kinda visited because I kind of happened to buy a fallout trilogy pack...

First ever saw and played fallout 2 back waaaaaaaaaay in the days of me being 12-14 years of age. Even played the fallout tactics demo over and over and OVER again, I couldn't buy the full gam deu to € problems.

Back to the present. I had resently rekindled my interest in the apocalyptic "futures" by reading webcomics like http://gotmorr.com/blastwave/ and http://www.postnukecomic.com/....
Remembering the good old days of fallout 2, I thought, why not search for some fallout 2. Maybe some craaaaaaazy dude would sell it.

Today, I found and bought a copy of the frikkin fallout trilogy pack!!!! Gonna install it, play it and beat it, starting from fallout 1 and up till my eyes bleed!!!!

P.S: Found this forum by chance because I had to find a way to bypass me using xp

I read about fallout in some magazine. Thought it sounded real cool. Then I saw its box (the original Wide cardboard one) in Wal-Mart and bought it. Was hooked for days on end :P

Played the demo from a stolen PC-Gamer magazine demo disc, begged parents for Fallout for Christmas. Got it and was hooked.

it was nothing fancy...i was buying some blank discs and i saw the dual jewel case and me and my dad thought it looked pretty crazy,so we bought it. but the real story is how i got my second copy.we played the first so much the disc started to get messed up,then we moved onto the 2nd and i was the only one really into it,then that got broke and i went a few years without my beloved fallout.then i decided to get them again and spent some time looking for it before i mooched the money off my aunt and got it off Ebay.

People in a chatroom I was frequenting was talking about it and it sounded cool, so I decided to check it out. First time I thought it sucked, but aftr I gave it a decent chance I completely fell in love.

Generally, I don't trust my dad's taste in pop culture, clothes, technology, etc.

So, it was a Sunday in 1997 and my father and I were browsing a Software Etc. store. There was Fallout sitting on the shelves, but I didn't really notice it. My dad was the one who did. He picked it up and showed it to me. I looked at the box art and screenshots and for some reason I was very reluctant to like it. I mean, if my dad liked something, I usually ended up disliking it at that point in my life.

Finally, he persuading me (somewhat). I bought the game and went home. I loaded Fallout and was awed by it.

To this day I keep thanking my dad for pesuading me.

Don't always disregard your parents' opinions is the moral of the story.

I saw the demo somewhere, can't recall where, and downloaded it. I was already a post apocalyptic genre fan (I played Aftermath and Morrow Project PnP games and had been reading PA fiction since I found a copy of Alas Babylon when I was a kid) so when Fallout was finally released I picked it up the day it first arrived at my local game shop.

Boredly browsing games years ago, found the dual jewel pack. After reading the part about falling in love, getting married, and then pimping my wife for chump change (on the pack), i decided i had to get it. My being a young'un, i had to ask mom about. She didn't ask questions, i didn't supply answers, and the store clerk didn't bat an eye. Those were the days, eh?

The rest is history.

There was a video preview on a CD of a long forgotten PC mag. It showed Fallout in a very early state and lots of MAKING OF stuff. I loved it.

When the demo appeared, i swallowed it like a good hoe makes it with cum.
I played it several times. Laughing at people beeing shredded by the gangmember's Miniguns.

Then finally F1 was released and i did the same with the full game.

The End.

When i was a kid, we only had MACs (dad was into them), so we were ordering macformat magazine (if i remember correctly). They started bringing cd-rom, full of demos/shareware programs, with every issue on '97. One cold winter day, on december 97, the cd-rom included a demo of fallout. Damn i was hooked. The demo was so cool (it was that early junktown version).

Next summer i was playing f1 through. Then it took couple years and it was some summer on 21th century when i first time played F2

mine is simple.

1998 i think...i went in EB, doing my usual game browsing with my sister. Fallout caught my eye because I remembered my cousin playing with Syndate and I was deeply attracted to the look and feel of the game. Also, Postal also caught my attention. But in the end, I chose Fallout because the box just looked amazing!!!!

I told my sister to buy it for me...cost $67.99 canadian dollars. Still have the price tag on the box. It the first ever game I got, so I'll never forget it. The first time i played it, I got lost because of the open style of game. But then I caught on, and I simply fell in love with it. :D

I first discovered Fallout when one of my friends told me you could light people on fire and watch them run around on fire. After I heard that, I bought the game on the spot. That was back when I was playing KKND and Dark Reign. I got hooked on Fallout after that, I like burning things, and convincing the master to kill himself.

just refering to an extremely lame joke that americans seem to like: fill a paper bag with shit, light it near someone's front door, ring the bell & run away. the usual effect is a person opens the door & stomps the fire out, getting shit all over his shoes in the proces. very funny... *NOT*
