More about Macs
As a followup to 4too above, there are some other issues with running the Mac versions on recent OS X releases.
Around the time of Leopard, or 10.5, ATI drivers for 256 colors were dropped from the OS install, so folks with ATI cards in their Macs could no longer play FO1 or 2. All they would get would be a black or white screen. You can search the fora for this ancient thread.
Then, with Lion, Apple discontinued Rosetta, which allowed PowerPC code-based apps to run in the Intel environment. The upshot of this was that even the lucky Nvidia folks now had a game icon with the dreaded barred-circle icon which means cannot be launched.
So, strictly speaking, support for FO on the Mac (and many older PowerPC code-based games) have been discontinued as of Lion, and cannot be played in the current and future Mac OS variants.
As 4too indicated, you can sully your Mac with WinXP on BootCamp and run a ton of older game software. Or, you can use VirtualBox to run a copy of Snow Leopard and still access Mac versions of these applications and games. This is the cheapest solution, however, this doesn't get around the ATI driver issue.
In the end, my solution was to find a 2009 MacMini for cheap that has Nvidia graphics, load Snow Leopard on it and connect it to a modest monitor for a relatively inexpensive Old-School gaming setup.
