has the fixes,the script GL_Test will change his appearance to the leather jacket npc on save load,be sure and delete the file once he has been changed

Huge bug here, i just went into the toxic cave to save smiley from the golden geckos, fought myself down and well saved him.. went up and noticed the red marker exit is totally gone!

instead the map from the entry point seems to have expanded with some ground tiles and a few trees and im pretty much stuck in there now.. can't exit at all!

that is because the edge data for the map is wrong,open f2_res.ini in fo2 folder and change

Code:
IGNORE_MAP_EDGES=0

to 1

you will be able to move far enough to see the exit grid

with the latest hi_res mod,it comes with a folder labled extras,inside are a couple of folders,if you take the contents from

Edge Data Mega Mod 2.44

folder and move them to data\maps\ folder,you wont have to turn off map edges

Hey guys. I have two questions regarding NPC's.

First, Brain Bot.
He won't shut up. He has a random float text each and every second. Sometimes more. Kind of buggering.
How can I stop this? Or at least reduce it?


Secondly, Goris.
He does very little to no damage in combat. By comparison, where the level 1 Dogmeat, K-9 and Cyberdog do anywhere from 3 to 15 damage, level 5 Goris does mostly 0 damage, occasionally 1 damage with a critical.
This seems to apply to all deathclaws, making them very easy opponents.
Could there be a problem with their "Claw" weapon?
Anyway, is there a fix for this too?

I have found out.
Seems that the problem is connected with game saves. But I still had this problem

The instruction at 00459781 referenced memory at 00000064
The memory could not be read from

in 3.44 version.Only until obj_dude was replaced.
In fact it did cause save corruption.
Then I will simply try to play a new game, maybe later some day:).

This is probably not a bug, but I'm very surprised by this. Have been looking all over the net (and readmes) and MM walkthroughs but couldn't find any info about it.

I just finished New Reno quests (besides SAD), the date is 22 May 2242. When I travel anywhere, I get the i-am-dead picture (vault tshirt with bones under a palm in a desert) and a speech saying that I am dead and I failed (it sometimes changes).... What the hell??

I guess this has something to do with the GECK for Arroyo quest and the 4th Hakunin's dream....?? But the 4th dream wasn't supposed to be until 20 june, not 22 May...? Is this quest modified in MM in this way - that I have to bring them the GECK until may 22nd 2242, else the game ends??

I have read 2 walkthroughs (Eng+CZ) but they didn't say anything about this. Had I known this earlier, I would have rushed to find the GECK, but now I really don't want to redo the whole Reno and half of NCR...

Any response woulde be great. Thanks.
 
@Nirran: Thanks for all the bug fixes and keeping up with the thread in my absence.

@bozar_bullet: It may be a bug if you did something and an incorrect global variable was triggered. For example, one earlier bug would cause you to become an enemy of Arroyo if you killed people at Bunker 21. So, it's possible it is a bug. But, before going down that path, I gotta know: Did you save Arroyo from the first threat? Did you find a cure for the harvest? If you didn't do the first quest that the Elder told you to do, then the village will die well before the usual time limit.
 
Alright, I got it sorted. Sorry for false alarm, but I got scared that I would have to replay the game...

I traced the saves to a point where I didn't die. In the end, it wasn't a bug at all.

I wanted to be a Mordino Made-man, but for that I had to take 2 mentats (because my CH is 4 and 6 is needed). The effects of mentats after 1 day are CH -3. So obviously, my CH after 1 day got to 0 and I died. I managed to sort this situation by taking another mentats just before my CH got to 0, then survived. Wooo, very happy!!
 
Wait. A stat getting to 0 causes your character to die!? :crazy:
I never even heard of that before.
 
Welcome,didnt annoy or anything did it?gives me something to do and i love scripting(in practicaly any language)

It doesn't?? :D
Now when I think about it, it shouldn't probably. But I think I read it on fallout wikia or somewhere. Don't know what else it could have been...
