While I am all for protecting one's own copyrighted things I have to agree that he was sitting around waiting for it to be posted. Given the frequency of his posts I would say it's almost certain it was being waited for. On a weekend and with them being mailed so recently perhaps a certain magazine that has a previous employee from his mag is a little ticked about being drug out in the open for their stupidity...

I probably would ask that they be posted internally or in links and not on the front page if it were me. I mean common sense says they will be all over the internet so there is little helping it anyways.

That's inevitably true and part of the reason these mags barely have any justification to exist, or at least not to get exclusives.

But they have to contact at least the source of the scans, which in this case is us, and/or big sites carrying them. It's not just about wanting to protect your copyright, it's also about your position as copyright holder weakening if you're refusing to defend it. 's in the law.
 
Quite true and completely understandable. Just saying, I think it's blatantly obvious there are other motives here asides from the legal ones.
 
I thought the same thing: why don't we have links to scans at the front page?

I personally don't think that scans are that important - they contain no new screenshots and all the new info about Fallout: New Vegas is already in one of our news.
 
Why would you give into this dirtbag? Its a few pictures. "Review" the article and its fair use. News organizations do it to each other all the time. Hell, the Daily Show -lives- off of doing this to other news organizations. I'd post it even more prominently, along with a scathing review of the person in question and the political actions of the magazine, make it look like bad pr for them.

No it's not.

The few quotes in the Vault's summation? That's fair use. Even using a single concept art or screen can be argued under fair use.

Completely copying someone's creative work never, ever falls under fair use. They're legally fully in the right.

I hit that first but then thought many would not want to see my glorious ball pump in action.

all in all, that's the best way to link things on a crap site overseas.

I get this feeling that New Vegas is going to be decent but the dialogue kiddie version for retarded 16 year olds is going to make it shitty no matter what happens or is added on.

Never lose and KNOWING the alternative dialogue yet not YET being able to say it... how pathetic.
