Religion is the root of all evil

Yes, you missed my whole point.

I was enciting you to think about *what* or *who* gave you all these traits, abilities, not *how* would you see them as.

What part of NOT HOW YOU SEE THEM AS don't you understand ?

I am thinking about it, sunny Jim, you're the one whose view is eschewed. These are all perfectly easily explainable without involving antiquated concept such as religion and personal opinions based on them.

EDIT: Anyway, there really is no point in debating it since our starting points differ so immensely. You measure everything using God, others prefer to measure everything using logic. There can be no compromise or change of opinion through debate in such cases.

A method for determining viable genetic material.

I prefer to see love as the joke played on us by the gods, since while it's "supposed" to help us determine viable genetic materials, all it really does is prevent us from overpopulating the earth through overbreeding, what with chicks not wanting to fuck you unless she thinks you love her and all . If human females were as open legged as other animals, we'd get laid a whole lot more, which of course is what it's all about.

Ability to feel, I don't know what exactly you're getting at other than our senses.

Love, hate, envy, jealousy, you know, what makes us human.

Sexual desire, and how does nature not condition us to have babies?

Babies? Haha, that's not why I want to have sex with most of the girls that I do.
Anyway, above the post you quoted, lies written "my 2 cents" and not "THE UNIVERSAL TRUTH", so please, treat it accordingly.
1. Love is merely a tool to make us produce more babies (or better ones) for the next generation, this allows us to climb up to a higher priority in natural selection. Hate is what allows us to blindly kill something to prove that we are the superior species and not get killed by natural selection. Envy is a drive to get what you want, in a wild setting you would be conditioned to wanting to get food because it's necessary for survival. Jealousy, drive to climb higher up in the hierarchy of natural selection, comes about because otherwise we would not be able to climb up the ladder, and instead would fall off. I think that if you ponder animal drives for long enough you'll realize that we just have more advanced emotions based off of basic animal instincts.

2. Actually, yes it is. It is merely a drive to create babies for the next generation Besides I never said anything about universal truth. I'm just dealing with the level of discussion we're at, if you want to move higher, just tell me.

Yeah, that's the problem with religion. The blinder it puts on our eyes. You can't see the sun of the truth when you just take off the blinders. You have to look at brighter and brighter things until eventually you can see the truth.

You really don't realize that's what you're doing, do you? And in fact you were the one with the 2 cents, weren't you?

Inciting people to think. Inciting people to think, when your own thinking doesn't stray much from the stone-age thinking, what with the "OMG! Fire in the sky! The Gods must be angry! Yeah!" stuff and all.

Okay, so did anyone read the bloody book?

I don't mean to dig up the thread and restart the "discussion" of back and forth "stupid troll," and, "no you, stupidhead". I just want to know who here read Dawkins' The God Delusion, or any other book by him.

I don't believe anyone adressed the book past the initial post, well except the guy who included it in his post talking about the BBC special The Root of All Evil.

It's a fair question to ask, right? I mean I'd think the book would be at leas[t] slightly relevant to the subject it addresses (or attempts to if you prefer).
