Russia attacks Ukraine

Regardless, just because certain scenes are too much for certain people to handle doesn't necessarily mean everyone playing said game are "edgy Gen-Xers".

Eh... I beg to differ. I can't stand anime, but I always liked the old school Pokemon games. Haven't played one since the GBA era though, so I couldn't tell you how the news ones turned out. There's something inherently fun about playing a game that makes PETA's blood boil.

Then you aren't the people I am talking about. Also that TJ guy is Dopamine Cleric.

Ukraine War - Ukrainian Soldiers Knock Out Russian Tank With NLAW In Point Blank Ambush

It just occurs to me that Putin considers this a training op for his conscripts so he did not think it was a lie.

Rare footage from Russian side, apparently it was recorded in 24th Feb, but just released now.

At this point, it seems that nothing short of military defeat will stop gollum. His forces are already lobbing rockets near the Poland border and at this rate they will for sure try to test NATO's resolve. If successful, he will target the next vulnerable country, threaten with nuclear war to anyone who tries to interfere and just keep repeating the same steps.

And all of this bullshit could have probably been avoided if not for the constant appeasement by Europe. How did we end up here - where a simple mobster from St.Petersburg is now deciding the worlds future.

Woke of the rings killed Putin. They all just frothed at the testicles because their nerdy millennial parents bought that same Lord of the Rings DVD when the PS2 went on sale.

Europe's been playing the hippie card a while now, ostensibly because they are scared of war and would rather appease. I remember some folks here saying they hope Germany never involves itself in conflicts or sends troops abroad. Just stick their heads in the sand.

Plus that cheap Russian gas man, the climate is clearly so much more important than not being beholden to Putin. Nuclear power plants? Oh noooooos Fukushima, Russian gas is clearly better.

A BMW car is apparently good enough to intercept a Russian missile from destroying your home, possibly making it dud.

Yeah. I mean that sending troups all around the world "fixing" shit really worked wonders in Lybia, Syriah, Irak, Afghanistan, Mali, Somalia ... should I go on?

No. Germany is doing it's best job by keeping their troops at home. Not that sending little soldiers all around the world would have stopped Putin from Invading. Or if Germany or Europe had suddenly doubled their numbers in troops, tanks, planes what ever.

Now don't get me wrong. I am sure plenty of mistakes have been made. And particuliarly we Europeans shouldn't have been rolling out so many damn red carpets for those fucking russian Oligarchs. But honestly. What do people actually want or expect here? Like seriously now. New cold war? Lets roll back the iron curtain, put all NATO/What-ever military to the border and that's it? Arms race here we come! We need to beat those damn Russkies!

What's that supposed to solve? The thing is even if Putin is one day gone and Ukraine divided, or occupied or left alone as neutral state, Russia will be still there. Their nuklear arsenal will be still there. And who ever rules it will be there. So some form of dialogue and diplomacy has to be pushed. What other alternative is there? Threatening each other every day with nuklear weapons? Like has that really achieved anything for the last 70 years?

I am by no means saying we should have weak and ineffective military forces. But there are far more serious issues coming at us in the near future. And having everyone armed to the teeth and ready to use it all while looking at each other in suspicion is not going to end well once we see more and more ecological dissasters coming up, more pandemics and issues with global trade chains and resources - in a time where outright lunatic conspiracy theories are actually even reaching governments and their leaders ...

And the only chance to somehow solve this peacefully is trough more cooperation. Within reason of course. Or it will have the potential to become very ugly very quickly. And that is in no ones interest. Because once shit hits the fan it will be the cockroaches standing on the ashes. And not any nation or government.

Remember folks, War war never changes.

It seems like NATO's plan is something very different from what everyone thinks it is.

My guess is, they want to turn Ukraine into a Russian Afghanistan 2.0, forcing the Russians to get bogged down in a decade(+) long war which will eat up their economy, destabilize their country, and significantly reduce their hard power on the world's international stage. NATO won't intervene... they won't intervene because what's happening now is far more lucrative.

Think about it, Russia is giving NATO everything they could possibly want. 1) Countries that have been talking about NATO being pointless in the past few years and thinking about leaving are now backtracking on that sentiment in a real hurry, 2) the nations who NATO always wanted to apply for membership but either never did or it fell through such as Finland, are now thinking about NATO. 3) Russia is fucking it's own economy with this war, and the oligarchs who keep Putin in power are going to be circling around him like sharks if he doesn't wrap this up REAL soon. They don't very much enjoy having their foreign assets frozen. 4) NATO is getting the best field test/exercise of both it's own equipment and the Russian military that they've had since Afghanistan in the 80's. I'm sure their analysts are just lighting up with absolute fucking glee right now seeing Russian 4th and 5th generation military hardware get shot to pieces with old outdated technology from the 80's and 90's.

So what will NATO do? They keep sending enough weapons and cash to keep Ukraine in the war, of course. If Russia is fucking iself over sideways without NATO's involvement, why would they ever want to compromise that?

As for Putin... well I'd feel real fucking nervous right about now. The Ukrainian war was supposed to be quick, they promised China they'd wrap it up within a month, even going so far as to deliberately make a deal with China to postpone the invasion until after the Winter Olympics. China has been forced to flip their own narrative on it's head, going from support for Russia full stop... to "it's all NATO's fault"... now to "we're neutral and we've always been neutral. In fact since we're so neutral we'll even mediate peace talks between Russian and Ukraine".

Go to 3:25 to skip the bullshit. Otherwise this is one of the most coherent analysis I've seen done that wasn't released by "official sources".

I said right from the beginning that people like Putin do not attack from a position of weakness but a position of strength. Europe and particularly Germany's demand for cheap Russian gas encouraged Putin to think y'all's weak, because y'all are. Biden should have sanctioned Nord Stream 2 but he was spineless and that showed weakness as well. Like I said, every major fuckup so far in history has happened with a socialist/democrat in office.

I never said to start a cold war but one cannot also let the fear of war actually START war. You would think Europe learned this from Neville Chamberlains screw up but I guess not. Merkel has been appeasing Putin for years and Schroeder before him. You sacrificed all in the altar of cheap energy and climate goals and now it's biting Ukraine and potentially other nations in the ass.

What do people want? Don't be so damned selfish and hypocritical about cheap energy. When Europe bared it's belly to the likes of Putin, it encouraged him. Actions like sending troops and getting involved show your not a nation of pushovers but a nation who needs to be taken seriously. Putin most definitely have thought more about invading Ukraine had Europe stood up to him more. Had Europe actually given more of a shit to defense spending than that would show Europe is willing to USE it's weapons as who buys shit NOT to use them.

And you speak of suspicions? Many suspected Putin would do something and they were right. But did Germany even take heed of those suspicions? No.

Lastly Russia has nukes and nobody will invade Russia. No, what we want to do is make sure Russia doesn't step out of line. The SU had it's chance to be top dog and failed. It's time for Putin to accept that fact and know his damned place instead of making all of Russia suffer because he wants to maintain power or return Russia to it's imperial glory days.
