Vulpes has the reputation of being a professional bullshiter. Caesar has a mythos around him being a son of Mars.

Caesar made that bullshit out of thin air. If he's a God, whoever he chooses as his successor becomes Jesus.

Security isn't the final say on happiness. People from the NCR did move to the Mojave for more opportunities. The NCR has too many strong businesses within it for up and comers to compete. Remember the NCR managed to make a train station which isn't a small feat. I doubt any other faction could have taken on the BoS before the BoS-NCR war.

When Alexander the Great died they asked who his empire should go to because he had no heirs he said "To the strongest" and his four generals divided up the empire and fought to each ones destruction. Now switch that four with 86 and you'd guess the level of destruction.

I agree with the previous entry which stated that the Legion will fall apart, falling into weaker internal divisions. The problem I think is that those divisions will splinter a lot in a very short period of time, with each "Legion faction" becoming little bigger than tribes; an ironic yet perverse return to their roots. I would speculate the reason would likely be due to relatively inadequate infrastructure: Considering the Legion grew from nothing in the space of a few decades it is likely it devoted all its economy and effort to expansion (at the cost of civic construction and infrastructure creation) as well as having a relatively sparse population (though organised now its pure-tribal pre-history would have created smaller population density.) If I'm correct about the above most of the Legion successors will "inherit" an "empire" of mostly empty space and pre-war rubble, populated mostly with small towns and slave populations who would try their hand at insurrections once in a while. Compare that with the Diadochi after Alexander who each inherited wealthy rural and urban regions. Most Legion successor nations will be trying to best the others by raiding the factions with more or seeking to restore the Empire by seeking to absorb the weaker ones. So its possible in 30 years they will be tribes again or if they are lucky post-RE warring European nations who could perhaps build a future, perhaps not (though nothing compared to the strength of independent Vegas or the NCR.)

The game is quite consistent in what will become of the Legion. Mr House predicts (if you kill Caesar) that although the Legion will stay temporarily strong for the Hoover Dam Battle, it will deify Caesar and start to fall apart within a year. Joshua Graham (previous Legate) is certain that the Legion will crumble (if you tell him Caesar's dead) and hopes that Arizona's people is spared the worst of the collapse, a man with insight indeed (though not necessarily objectivity.)

Vuples Inculta mentions that Nipton was selling its loyalties to the highest bidder, and that while the townsfolk were letting NCR stay in the town, that for enough money he was able to convince them to betray and trap the NCR citizens within the town.

Therefore Legion decided to burn the town to the ground, because they thought a town that followed such dishonest practices would have no place in a Legion occupied Mojave.

I don't support Legion in the slightest,but they do not go around sacking random towns.

Ever heard of populate and perish? The Legion needs more soldiers and civilians so any sexual contact that doesn't lead to reproduction is prohibited.

I think we've explained this SOOOOO many fucking times. The Legion aren't luddites, they're just extremely self sufficient and see the shortcomings of technology. House is SCREWED without tech. If suddenly all tech above the medieval age was shut down House and the NCR collapse. The Legion shrugs and keeps using their knives. But the thing, they still use tech. Sawyer even said that electrical power flowed through Legion settlements.

First, Freeside doesn't really have any rules. Second, NCR gets you some protection and access to modern infrastructure like trains, clinics, and cars (blame Gamebryo). It is stated that "civilians" are the minority in Legion territory so it is like a lottery ticket. I see the Legion as halfway between the Unity and the Enclave.

Technically it does, the King puts forward a vague outline of laws but yeah you're right. Mr House/NCR don't bother about.

The NCR provides poor protection, raiding is still a problem and crime is rampant. Also, trains are limited to the army, clinics are super expensive and so are cars.
