This goddamn forum: stereotypes abound!

I'm severely disappointed to admit that this site, it's reputation, and how it is perceived by others, is 100% true.
I'm sorry, but if you're going to say "You live up to your stereotypes" please would you mind pointing out which stereotypes you are referring to.

Well the stereotype of the people on the website being vile old farts, and generally an awful group.

But people like you have proved me wrong.

Then why the hell did you open your post by saying that the stereotypes were 100% true, then go on to say that the people here are 'generally quality people'? Jeez dude, your posts are lacking in coherence.
I pretty much asked the same thing before but got ignored :look: I am still confused about the Opening Post.

I honestly can't be fucked with explaining anything.

Yep, I lack coherency p.

Yeah, I've sort of stopped the superman thing, I'm done with that.
Gee, that was quickly after your OP in this thread.
There were several others, Korin, Sanders and Brother None were the ones I'm familiar with, but they all went quiet not to long ago.
SuAside is the only admin currently checking in on a semi-regular basis.
Gee this place is vulnerable.

Why doesn't H-what's-his-name become an admin?
Yeah, the recent insurgence of spambots proves that. But besides trying to contact the admins there's not much to do about it.

Off to a strong start then. This forum just loves incoherency. It's why Bethesda's Fallout games are so highly regarded here!

So, op is complaining that the nma members are a bunch of old farts that constatly complain about bethesda "fallout", and then saying that is totally ok with that? Is that what this thread is about?

Eh, I think the Codex is worse in terms of Bethhate.
Also, NMA was a glittering gem of hatred even before Bethesda acquired the Fallout IP. People already hated Fallout 2, and with Interplay's later decisions to outsource Fallout: Tactics and make BoS and scrap Van Buren in favour of BoS 2 this place was already pretty vile. It got only worse when the initial waves of Fallout 3 fanboys hit.

Vile? Or. . . sane?

Anyway this forum's spirit has died. Nothing but newfags who are still in school who didn't like fallout 4 and felt this was the place to go.

You really can tell a forum isn't doing well when it's only one year old accounts who welcome new people and tell them what the forum is all about.

It's the fate of all (specialised) video game fora, I guess. Especially games that don't get any sequels.
The first forum I ever joined was the second largest german Quake community. That was fourteen years ago, I think. By the time I stopped frequenting it (probably around 2008 or 2009 or so) it was already dying out, with only a few active members left and no influx of new people.
Now the page is gone completely, which is kinda sad.
And while I'm technically a newfag on this page as well, considering the overall age of the site, I sure hope that NMA will endure quite a bit longer. I think this community can do more than bitch and moan (although we did not manage to make a Top 50 RPG list...).

I've been here for a while. But sometimes I still feel new. How bad was it back in 2007/2008? Was it really bad?

It was still going on in 2010 when I joined, and I've been lurking for years before that. Yeah, there was quite a lot of trolling going on.
