That's kind of the cause for concern. I remember a lot of my associates saying how less troubled they'd be if Pence himself were on the ticket and I'm like, "What? Do you know anything about him other than the fact he's not like Trump and speaks like a politician?" I'd actually have been much more comfortable if Trump had chosen someone very much NOT like him.

Why? Because he supports peoples right to decide for themselves on the issue of gay conversation therapy (and no not this electro shock meme everyone is throwing around)?
He never advocated forcing people to or anything.

I'm generally of the mind that people should have the right to do what they please but like vaccinations and pseudo-science in general, the public has a right to be informed it doesn't work and it's dangerous and psychologically destabilizing. I'm more offended by the fact Pence has acted like there's any merit to the quakery.

Theres literally no conclusive evidence one way or another on gay conversation therapy.
It's too political, everything is either funded by someone explicitly for or against it.

Homosexuality was considered a mental illness for a long time with lots of research, time, and effort devoted to "curing" it. Pretty much everything we have seen is that people can choose not to engage in homosexual acts and marry members of the opposite sex but actually removing attraction doesn't seem to work. I learned this while I was an evangelical fundamentalist doing research on it.

I also note from an anecdotal perspective, I don't believe any kind of therapy would turn me gay or you.
 
I will say that a while from now there will be some of us here who will be very vocal and against Trump or regret their vote for him but there is something that, at the end of the day, will make most people say that it was worth it and that is the end of Clinton-Bush political family. At last both the republicans and democrats are free from them. Now there will never be another Bush or Clinton in the White House ever again. At lest I hope. Stick a fork in the two of them they are done. Now both the republicans and democrats can use this as a time to rebuild. The republicans of course are giddy as school girls right now but once the high rares off they need to rebuild their party and go over their policies as they are still quite deeply divide. The democrats can use these four years to not only rebuild but wean themselves off the corruption of the Clintons and as well as get rid of these fucking SJW types who don't represent the common American or their interest. The optimist in me is hoping that now both the right and left will now focus their policies on the good of the American people and put the interest of the American people before domestic and foreign donors, the establishments and as well as these whack job SJW types.
