Your dream game

First time out of the vault
Mine is a physics building game with similar fidelity to Children of a Dead Earth, but with land/sea/air/space instead of just space, and exploration instead of combat only. I want to be able to model modern tank combat, WWII naval combat, WWI plane combat, a nuclear reactor, and near future space exploration all in the same game, or even in the same instance. It'd need extremely realistic physics, the game mentioned above already has most of the space warfare/travel related equations that it needs but new equations would need to be sourced to calculate how long a given tank/ship gun barrel will last, or how much power a combustion engine outputs etc. Naturally, every equation has to be either calculated by mashing together a huge range of real world examples to get a fairly accurate estimate, or by sourcing them from reputable sources such as textbooks/handbooks.

Mine would simply be a proper Fallout sequel. Turn-based, isometric, good writing, lots of choice and consequence with lots of reactivity. Fleshed out SPECIAL, more skills (not less) and consistent lore.

I really love Fallout 1/2, it's my absolute favorite cRPG games and I just another game like that but preferably with some improvements here and there (such as dicing up Science and Repair into other more defined skills (Chemistry, Electronics, Mechanics, Hacking and Academics) and stealing the Etiquette system from Shadowrun for the Charisma stat).

Hmm... depends on the kind of the genre, we are talking about.

For example:

a)jRPG

-I would love to see, a new Breath of Fire game = Breath of Fire 6 (that is not shit and mobile game).
-I would add a lot more dragon forms, expanded the story and gave some choice and consequences. (Not a full RP, just some choices. I still want Ryu to be a 'good' dragon.)
-New Graphics, expanding upon the damage and combat system.
-Giving more interactions between different characters.
-More enemies with different quirks, strengths and weaknesses.

b)RPG - Fallout:
-A proper Fallout game, but 3D.
-SPECIAL would be expanded, player skill would be minimal (mostly aiming down sights).
-All the minigames would be fully dependent on skills. And get rid of the pointless minigames that you had to do in NV, like lockpick or hacking. If your character has got skill, then player doesn't need to do anything. Just because you are smart does not make your character smart.
-More Skills in general. For example: splitting speech into deception and speech.
-Of course, great story, minimal background, tons of interesting quests that aren't 'bring me 20 bear asses'.
-Oh and any new DLC, should be connected to the main game, somehow. New Vegas was decent, but basically nothing changed, even if you nuked both sides.

That's basically it.

Agreed.

My dream game is an open world Judge Dredd game with multiple story threads going on at once rather than a main story. More of a procedural "day in the life" type of thing rather than "Judge Dredd saves the world." Bring Anderson along for the ride as well. Make the world reactive enough in the Deus Ex sense and it would be a blast.

Pretty much, yeah. The Fallout 3 that never was.

Other than that... A sequel to - or a totally separate game but made in the image of - Bureau of Astral Troubleshooting series (from '92) and Rise of The Dragon ('90) with heavily beefed up RPG mechanics, storytelling, interactivity and reactivity -- basically made with the same kind of principles as Fallout was and then some.

A PnP derivative RPG made as a mixup of Dreamweb and It Came From the Desert with TB combat and GTA 2 level visuals. And again made with the Fallout principles.

There'd probably be more if gave it more thought, but why torture ones self with pipedreams.

As Judge Dredd was mentioned... Probably not really a "dreamgame" material, but it would be interesting having an RPG based in the JD world where the player would not be nor become a Judge, but would have to deal with how the crime and the Judges clash through what ever the main quest might be. Kind of like... there being a story going on in the background of which you are not really a part of, but which influences your story and vice versa where the PC being a wild card would be applicable.

I just love that old pixelated art those games have. New games can replicate it, but it just isn't the same.

Would pixelated art be more difficult to create than 3D models + animations?
Cause a 3 model, if you create a skeleton that most of the models will follow then you can just copy paste the animations pretty much, but a a 3D model, wouldn't it require more attention to detail and since animations are more fluid wouldn't it require more time than simply a handful of frames?

You try Fallout 1.5:Resurrection yet? Fan made greatness, on par with FO1/2

A sequel to Earthbound or Mother 3 or Vagrant Story or a Deadlands/Lovecraft cRPG. Judge Dredd RPG is a good idea too. Dredd needs a comeback. That last movie was rock solid.

Basically, I'd like a cyberpunk corporate-based game which is focused heavily on roleplaying versus combat made for adults and by adults.

So, my ideal game was close to being realized with Adam Jensen in Human Revolution serving Sarif Industries. Had they added a bit more choice and romance, I might have been 100% behind it. I'm now hoping Cyberpunk 2077 will satisfy my desire to play an evil corporate samurai.

I'd also love a Resident Evil roleplaying game where you can side with Umbrella, STARs, or other factions.

So Cyberpunk 2020 then?

A STALKER sequel with some effort put into it and actually attempts to address issues of previous games/polish.

But any immersive sim like system shock set in space is good stuff to me.

I like CDProjekt Red but I have no idea what cyerpunk is supposed to be...

Is it like really open world deus ex or something?
It's an old tabletop RPG, a bit like Shadowrun without the magic. This is a video game adaptation of it. It has the same general idea as Deus Ex with human augmentation and such.

Cyberpunk 2020 was a big roleplaying game in the Eighties founded by Mike Pondsmith and basically consisted of a game where you and the rest of your crew were a bunch of mercenaries working for/against the various megacorporations. Basically, what Shadowrun became only with orcs. It's notable for the fact cyborgs went crazy if they got too much hardware and became psychopaths--which the police were authorized to use all force to take down.

The premise for this game has been kept under wraps but what we know is it's an open-world consisting of Night City and that it is larger than the Witcher 3. You can create your own character from various classes found in the original sourcebook and the plot involves virtual reality memory-downloads called "braindancing."

So I'm going to be a bit sly and give off what I have planned for a game (as I've mentioned before I want to get into game development and one of the ideas I have is heavily influenced by Fallout).

Anyway, I want to see a sort of Spiritual successor to Fallout, but to see it take more personal conflicts.
An example is how would a choice not only affect a community, but also the individuals in that community?

A few themes I want to see be touched upon in a Post Apoc games are rebuilding and redemption.

Essentially, you play as someone who wants to see a new World, rebuilding the World, allowing diplomacy to step forward over everything else.

However, an idea for a companion is a child killer who is trying to redeem himself. Certain areas would affect your reputation if you have him around, but he feels guilty for what he has done and would sooner sacrifice himself to save someone else's life.

I like the idea of the player choosing more than they actually do.
Do you let this guy come along with you who has done horrible crimes, where you'll be attacked on sight and kicked out of shops to allow someone a chance at a second life?

What I want to see, is games grow up.
I feel RPGs have regressed heavily since the mid 00's. There's was a time when tough issues were tackled with no wrong or right option.

But now we get companies like Bioware who just try to state the World in black and white, believing they are the moral supremacy and everyone else is wrong or Bethesda who just don't seem to care any more.

I want more nature ideas, not content put in a game.

So I guess my dream game is more mature ideas and actual meaningful choices that fit well with the themes and ideology of the game.

So Bladerunner.
