    Walter gets big dreams, beyond his quick 300 000 (which is his primary motivation, remember - alleviate his family the financial burden) - it is this egocentrical drive that ends up costing more and more lives - first "trivial junkie" lives, then "merely criminals" - then his own family

    All he ever had to do - was stop when he had what he wanted to get. There are events that can understandably push someone, like when he has to start over early on in the series, to re-gain his money, but he still lost his focus to unecesarily big dreams - as he admits in the end - he did it all for his own excitement, and it cost him all of what he wanted to safeguard
