  • Excited for Gran Turismo 7 though. GT Sport was a huge dissapointment, since I was riding the nostalgia hype all way from GT II

Now you need to find a PS5.

It gets released for PS4, but yeah, sure, 10-20 years from now, I'll get it!
"but then, why did Biden say - " for a 4th time, and I block and give up. How do people think Russia v Ukraine has ANYTHING to do with Biden
    Walpknut
    Walpknut
Woke up to the centrists bots trying to make the stuff in Ukraine the fault of the leftwing candidate. That level of brain damage on the lead up to elections is usually a good thing for a candidate, isn't it?
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
Rus v Ukr is a geopolitical standoff as old as the khanates, I always cringe when I see simplistic takes like "this is his or her fault, they are too corrupt or lame or power-hungry"

The world is full of frozen conflicts, like the Berlin-Paris rivalry that is kept in check through EU and NATO partnership. If that goes away, back come the wars, and Americans will be talking about Biden or Tucker Carlson.
    T
    TorontoReign
Not Trump or Bidens fault. It's the fault of the REPTILIAN OVERLORD MOON BASE TRANNY BOTS.

Sir I would like to buy a trout please. Can you translate that into your native tongue and post it back to me? This has been a post. That part too.

"Min herre, jeg skulle gjerne kjøpt en ørret, takk."

We don't have "sir" in Norwegian, so you'll have to call people "my lord" or just skip it entirely.
Girlfriend works in a restaurant in the city, and they are always super bemused whenever once a year American troops swarm the place, and call everybody "sir" and "ma'am"
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
In seriousness though, opening an abrupt exchange with a Norwegian, where you'd use "sir", we simply use excuse me/sorry, "unnskyld"
    T
    TorontoReign
Yeah I got my sir and ma'am habit from the military.
Pet peeve, whenever some comment on YT tries to build a bridge, and 1st response intends on burning it instantly

Another pet peeve is people whining about how miserable they are all the time. Make the change you want and bring people into your life not drive them away with misery otherwise you will just end up dead anyway.

I think when people say that they mean the person did stuff besides the normal stuff or maybe they are just saying trite shit for the funeral.
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
Honestly, I think they're just hammered by the realization their living loved one is no longer living, and so soon after, there's too many intricate personality traits to pick from, so they all land on "loved to live". Watched some court thingy, where lke 3 relatives in succession described the deceased as "loved to live", despite the person seeming interested in a bunch of specific stuff.
So many of my fellow leftists really *do* believe socialism = "no nice things allowed"
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
But US and Russia are both the type that by their own nature, by now, cannot permit any sort of significant change, because the path chosen is by now too deeply intrenched. Too many people of too substancial means depend too greatly on the system not only persisting, but intensifying.

We boast about having so much biodiversity and farmers are still doing their thing in the mud with no roads or infrastructure yet we also shackled them with having to respect Monsanto's rules on agraculture so no reusing seed, we destroy surplus crops and their stock is bought for cheap. It's so stupid, it's not even capitalism it's just a couple of families hoarding money the dumbest way possible.

And to circle back to that one of the leading "gotchas" against the leftist candidate is that he wore Ferragamo shoes. Like, motherfucker is a senator, you want him to go there on sneakers? You arribist pieces of shit would also throw a fit about that.

How the fuck are epic stories described as having "100 000" words at the most? Wtf... How do you even tell a full story within that frame!?

Darkly Dreaming Dexter was only 300 pages or so and spawned 9 seasons.
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
76 000 words, so between "very long novel" and "absolutely epic!" according to most sites. Like I said - the expectation seems to be really, really tiny books :I
    T
    TorontoReign
It depends. Those tiny books are easy to sell everywhere at places like Wal-Mart since the education level of the average consumer is lower than somewhere like a book store. Red Dragon is a real easy read at about the same page length. Keep it in mind.
Mississippi is more liberal than Norway, it's a fucking embarassment

And it all started cus we wanted so desperately to *appear* on board with the big-boys rules, "Oh look, America banned the black people's jazz-drug! Maybe they will be impressed with us, if we ban it too :o"
And now we just stick to our guns, "nono, we banned it because of its INHERENT DANGER >;'''I"

By now, the entire Norwegian police force is built entirely on busting stoners - we have like 3 murders a year, a handful of burglaries - the only thing that keeps police stations even standing is the pot-busts, NOTHING else. Holy fuck how I fucking hate them, the entire goddamn police station in the city, ENTIRELY dedicated to busting potheads, and NOTHING else
    TJQKA
    TJQKA
Oh yeah, we had 108 official murders on record in 2019 for the state of New Mexico, and all they want to do is bust potheads too. Ya know why? Because it's much easier than approaching that tinted windshield on the side of the highway.

I’m in the same age group as Zegh’s username. Also, I can’t search product reviews without getting dumbass Hindu currency prices…..
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
I got the Hindu-thing for a while. Do you have "personalized searches" or whatevs on or off? I have them off, because I *loathe* the idea of having Google try to get to know me, and try to personalize my internet - it sounds like a fucking nightmare - but it DOES cause some confusion in Google's results - including quirks that seem utterly random, like Hindu-focused search results and such.
Wait, what, how do people get 100 pages out of "8000-9000" words!? :D Are people typing shit up with font size 40, like some kid cheating
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
up the page count, or something? Wtf - with a word-count of 8000, font Courier, font size 10, I average on 20 pages!

What I MEANT to find out was: It seems there is a consensus of 3000-5000 words being "adequate" chapter length, with 5000+ being overall considered too much, while nearly all my chapters are betwen 5 and 10K words. NONE are 100 pages long :'D

Tbh, too busy writing lately. After decades of dicking around, I've started a new project, a dystopia, 6 protagonists of low class, 3 men, 3 women, in a far northern Siberian megapolis 300 years from now, 50 million people, rainy winters, scorching rebellious summers, and more capitalism than a million elon musks would know what to do with.

Now and then I remember the Norwegian word "Rompis" - a mix of "kompis" (comrade) and rompe (butt)
You know what. Comedians. They are some of the most easily offended pussies in the world. That's the blind spot. They can *not* stop crying.
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
In the old days, every comedian had to go through the grinder, people heckling them, people ruining their sets, I was never the type to heckle (although I have heckled innocent acoustic guitar performers on stage, because FUCK acoustic guitar performers!)
    zegh8578
    zegh8578
but you know, just to teach them all a lesson, if I ever go to a comedy show, I'll be the guy. I'll be the heckler - out of the blue, just random interruptions "YOUR MOTHER!!!" and see if I can break them. Fucking pussies.

That could have been one of the arguments in the comments. Several people tried hard to prop Rogans credentials over the medical doctor, which is what struck me as incredibly child-like, like comparing ratings and such.

    Walpknut
I think even some Rogan simps have started to find his self abscribed "medical expertise" to be a point of contention. Of course the weirdo simps and the anti vax orbiters flock to defend his claims. When you go to the gym and you inject steroids they force feed you medical knowledge, it's like doing an entire Virology specialization with every pump, like in Fallout New Vegas when you read a magazine.
